At what age did your child begin to enjoy Autopia?

Hello! We took my daughter last year (18 months) and she could care less for this ride...couldn't see over the steering wheel. The fumes also kind of grossed me out.

Trying to decide if it is worth it this year- she will be 2.5 years old (36"). Maybe still too little to see over steering wheel?

Please let me know when your toddler began enjoying this ride!

My daughter first rode it right before she turned 4. She loved it and still does. She is now 8, but not yet tall enough to ride by herself. She is trying to grow so that she can ride by herself next time we go. (not going to happen... lol)

Mine enjoyed until it they got their real driver's license. ;-) I think they were all under 2.

Youngest was 4.5 the first time and she couldn't reach the petals yet. It was fun but better for her siblings who could drive themselves.

My son loved it from the moment he learned the word "car", which pretty closely followed the word "mom". He is just one of those types of little boys, I however never had much interest in that ride, even as a kid. I ditto your sentiments of the gas fumes and it is bumpy and hard to steer...

About 2-1/2. Biggest grin I've ever seen. I had to control the pedal and sometimes help with steering, but there's something to be said about the sound of a real gas engine and that the thing really responds to the steering wheel compared to a kiddie ride with a pretend steering wheel.

I had a late bloomer to Autopia. My daughter sort of tolerated it until she was old enough to sit behind the wheel and steer (w me pressing the gas pedal). Then she looooved it. I think that was about age 6.

DS was 2 on our first (and only) trip. He absolutely loved this ride! But he was always really into cars

I took an almost 3 year old on it last November and at first he had a tough time because the steering wheel was a bit to far away for him and he got thrown around a lot when he hit the rails. Once I figured out how to stabilize him (arm behind so he could lean back and still reach the steering wheel, sit very close so he didn't bounce as much), he had a lot of fun. He does love cars, so this was a big thing for him.

Son was 6 when we first went.. he loved the ride and was so happy when he could drive it by himself.. until he found out it was harder than it looks to keep your foot on the pedal.. he still likes it. but has other rides that he likes better..

My son has loved this ride since he was 3. We have to ride this at least once or twice per trip. He still like to ride it and he's 15 now.

Our daughter was 3 the first time we went on it. Of course, I did the pedel, she steered. I have never laughed so hard in my life, bouncing from side to side throughout the whole ride. She thought it was funny too, and didn't mind being bounced around. But I'm sure it's not for every kid, as I could see how some would not like to be bounced around so much. My son was also 3 when he first tried it. I don't remember him steering as bad as my daughter, but it could be my memory, as he is 6 years older than her. They both still love it and it's always a must do once in a trip for us. And they are 26 and 19 now.

We have found the exhaust fumes are bad when the air is still.
We have found it better to ride when there is a breeze.
However, first thing in the morning with no line, I'll put up with the fumes.

We took my son to Disneyland for the first time in April 2013. He had JUST turned 4. He LOVED Autopia. I think 3-4 is just about right for this ride. I did the pedals of course, but he did the steering, and that's all he talked about for days.
