Did you wait until they were one year old or have it done earlier?

We have 3 girls- all were bald until about 2- so the oldest was just over 2, middle was right at 2 (at WDW in the barber shop) and #3 just had hers a few weeks ago just before she turned 3 at the WDW barbershop- she needed it about 6 months ago but we wanted to wait until we were at MK.

about 6 months old, by my MIL when neither DH nor I was there. We weren't aware of the haircut until after the fact.

She decided he needed a hair cut, so... His hair wasn't very long at all. DH set her straight, and she never did it again,

She wanted to get DD's hair permed when DD was ages 3 to 7. I called MIL's hairdresser, and Rita said not to worry, it wasn't ever going to happen. MIL continually talked about perming our DD's hair, and Rita warned her against it. DD had the most beautiful thick hair, and Rita told her a perm on baby hair would make the hair fall out and DD would end up bald for years as a result. I love Rita the liar!!

Both of my girls had their first haircut the week of their 2nd birthday. Both had very little hair the first year and by the second year it was still only wispy and they actually only had the bangs trimmed, not a full haircut. By the time they were 3 though, they both had hair past their shoulders that was really pretty.

My niece had more hair at 6 months than my girls did at 2 1/2 years :lmao: Not sure when she had her first haircut though.

A little guy I watched had a haircut at 9 months, it was so long and curly his parents were getting a lot of cute girl comments, so they buzzed him.

DS was 11 months. I tried to hold off longer but his hair was so long and had no style/shape to it. He probably could have used one a few months before that. He's 2.5 now and has needed a haircut every 6 weeks since the first one. I wish my hair grew like that:)

Sounds like my mil and sil!

My DS11 was almost 3 before he got his first haircut. It was so beautifully blonde with soft curls and it was down to the middle of his back. I didn't even care if people thought he was a girl, I loved his hair. When he got it cut he didn't look like a baby anymore, he looked like a little kid, and those curls went away forever.:sad1:

I believe they were all around 2. mine were baldies for a looooong time

DS needed (truly needed) a haircut when he was about 5 months old. He was born with a TON of hair, and even though everyone told us it would all fall out, it never did. It stuck up on top of his head, but the front was in his eyes, and the sides were down over his ears.

My DS had his first MUCH NEEDED haircut at about 14/15 months. If this one has hair like that I am going to do his first haircut/trim at WDW at approx. 9/10 months.

After:

Some of my family members were giving me flack the other day about getting my little man a haircut, I told them he wasn't getting a haircut untill we could get it cut at MK!

My DS, 15 months, has the prettiest hair ever, just today I had an older woman tell me that his hair was wasted on a boy, LOL! He has very sweet blond curls and I am not planning on getting it cut for some time, I love the curls and I am not in a hurry for him to look like a big boy, I will probally wait untill he is closer to two.

Both my son and middle daughter got their first haircuts at MK last year. He was days shy of 2. She was 4.

My older daughter was in 1st grade.

My youngest was 4 months old when we cut his crazy head of hair. The child was born with a head FULL of dark hair, sticking up from day one. LOL At 4 months there were pieces below his ears and I said nope, not happening. So my mom (a hairdresser) cut it. He has the thickest hair and it grows really fast, just like his daddy's.

My oldest was less than a year but older than 6 months, just don't remember which month. He had curly hair but I didn't want it long. I'd say he was about 8 or 9 months old the first trim.

My fiance's family had a FIT when we cut the baby's hair though. They wanted to see if it would curl like his did when he was little and why did we have to cut it? Ummm, because the pics I've seen of fiance when he was little looked like a little girl and my boy isn't going to look back and ask why he looked like a girl. LOL

DS was born with a full head of hair. So, much hair that we could see it in my 5 month sonogram. First haircut at 3 months!

This is my grandson in the picture in my siggy. Got his first haircut at 5 months because it was down in his eyes. Got his second cut at 7 months and he needs his thrid now. He has very thick curly on the back/wavy on top hair. It's always a mess.

Both my kids had hair when they were born. DS was a blond, and his inch and half long hair wasn't as noticable as DD's. She was born with lots of dark hair, about 2 inches long, standing straight up.

I just "knew" in my heart she was going to be a girl, even without ultrasound proof. (She wouldn't uncross her legs, so we had no proof.) We just knew. When I was in labor, one of the nurses said, "Oh my goodness, I can see the top of the head, and there's a lot of hair." Being silly, DH and I laughed, and said, "See, there's hair. The baby has to be a girl." The nurse looked at us like we were idiots, and tried to explain that boys could be born with hair too. We both laughed so hard at her. That poor nurse thought she was dealing with idiots.

DS will be 23 in May. He hasn't had his hair cut since last August. His hair is now the thickest hair I have ever seen on a human. He's got more hair on his head than any 3 people put together. It doesn't get long, it just gets fluffy, with loose waves.

Another three months, and he'll be ready to donate three nice thick bunches of hair to Locks of Love. He's a good hearted guy, but the real reason he's growing it out is just because he never bothers to get his hair cut. At this point, I've convinced him to not even bother with his semi-annual hair cut until he can make the donation.

All my girls were over a year before their first haircut, but when my son was 4 months old, it was either cut it or put a bow in it.
