I woke at at 3:30 to a half an inch of water i the bathroom. The tub has black stuff in it like it came up from the drain. We didnt use the shower at all as we checked in last night.

It felt familiar as I thought about it. I searched the boards but couldnt find a post about it.

I went to the front desk. They will begrudgingly switch our room like a regular check out. We have to pack up and check our bags and leave at bell services.

It is a 1st floor studio in BPK so I am now doing laundry to clean our stuff that got soaked. Of course I had set up my back pack and put it on the bathroom floor (opposite the sink area) because I wake earlier that my family and like to change and walk the resort.

Did anyone else have a leak in BPK?

The cart of fresh towels that is in the hallway right next to our door feels like it was a bit of foreshadowing.IMG_2686.jpeg

That sucks. They should comp you for the inconvenience of moving and having to be in unsanitary conditions. Just moving (packing/unpacking/laundry) you takes up hours of your vacation. We had to move villas a few years ago for a water leak from the bathroom above us and ants in the kitchen and were comped a three night stay anywhere we wanted (with a few exceptions). I believe there is also a guest satisfaction (or some similar name) department of CM's who will help you via phone to manage the move and comp. If you can't get to this department on the phone, go to the desk and calmly ask to speak with the manager. You won't have to do much other than describe your situation and what it has done to your vacation and they should comp you.

The towels in the hall suggest they knew it might happen...which makes it more aggravating. Good luck.

This is inexcusable. You should not have been expected to remain in that room. They should have taken your items to be professionally cleaned and your points for the night should be returned (notify member satisfaction if it’s not offered). That is the very minimum that any guest should expect when something like this happens.

I also feel that some sort of additional compensation is warranted for your loss of sleep and the inconvenience this has caused.

Wow! That's awful! Years ago we got back to our room at the CR after MNSSHP...so like midnight...and opened up to a flooded bathroom. The leak was coming from the room above us. They sent people up to help us move right then and there and wiped out every charge we had so far on portfolio, which I think was around $600.

The GF should absolutely move you and comp you something for the inconvenience.

That's awful, I hope you get everything mentioned above. Clearly a disney issue , so why should you be taking time to do laundry etc????

What an odd leak. At first I thought it could be a drain backup from the shower stall what with 1/2”of water on the floor throughout but then I see a photo of a dirty bathtub and the possibility of sewage water leaking from the wax ring of the toilet bowl.

Truly bizarre and hope the problem is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction soonest.

Yuck! Sorry you had to experience that. Based on your description, that was a sewer back up. Seen it to many times in other places. It backed up into the tub and had the toilet not leaked out the bottom it would have over flowed out the toilet.

Guest services definite should take care of you for this. But they need to understand it’s not just a leaky pipe.

Hope you get it all sorted out.

No. It was an accident. No-one planned for it to happen. I'm sure the guests will be compensated.
It is inexcusable that the OP had to remain in that room for hours and had to wash/sanitize her own items. But thank you for conveniently editing my post to only include the first sentence in order to make me look foolish. I hope you feel very superior with your response.

They moved us to a hotel room (non DVC) and refunded my points for last night.
I’m glad you’ve been relocated & sorry you had to experience the disruption, hopefully your vacation will be smooth sailing from here on out. Which building did they move you to?

That is not a leak. It is a sewage blockage. The gray/black water backs up to the lowest spot it can first. So they had a clog somewhere that needed to be cleaned out. Toilet wipes are usually the main culprit. They say they are flushable but they are not and cause many sewage backups. Sorry this happened. Definitely not something anyone should have to deal with on vacation.

we had this happen at OKW. Believe it or not, they refused to move us for 3 days. They poured drano and left - didn't bother to clean the tub at all. We had to call housekeeping to have it cleaned & it would only last for about an 1 hour before flooding again. It happened on repeat for 2 more days. On the 3rd day, it was 2am when we got back to our room smelling awful. We lost it on the front desk person (not my best moment admittedly)

They moved us to a room at the back of OKW which was annoying since we booked a room near the main building. But they ended up refunding our points, and handing us $600 in cash ($150/pp x 4) to spend since we were going to visiting Universal the next few days of our stay and not Disney. They also covered our Uber to Universal, comped us dinner at Olivia's, gave us a late check out, and had a golf cart pick us up and drive our luggage to the front on check out day.

Hopefully they move you soon!

They moved us to Boca Chica resort view. The manager that ultimately got the room switch (after being blown off at 4am) the switch happened around 6?
The manager that switched us asked when we were leaving the new room so they could “check things and make things right for us.” We just got back and nothing 😂 ha!

I wonder how the point refund will happen. OTU points? The points used for this trip are past banking now. I also wonder how many times I will have to call to get them.

It can take a week or so to see the points returned because they have to let MS know.

I would ask that you receive an exception for banking late based on the situation.

I do want to mention that the carts in the hallway with towels are spread throughout the buildings now. They have been in the hallways during my last several trips.

So, don’t think that was there for any other reason.

Glad that you were moved without having to be homeless for the day!

Disney already has DVCs money and they tend to treat them worse now than in the past, when they actually cared. They don't give a crap now days.
