At the Wal Mart clearance aisle today....

I found water mister bottles with the strap for 50 cents each! I also found Brita water bottles for $1.50 each, in case anyone is interested. I know everyone's Wal Mart is a bit different, but it might be worth checking into. The mister bottles were marked down to $3 previously, but today they were going for the low price of 50 cents!

Beware of WalMart clearance. All stores aren't the same. I recently purchased a toy on clearance at one Walmart for $6.00. It was $21.00 at a nearby Walmart. I don't know what their clearnance method is, but it is not consistent across stores.

Walmart's clearance is based on the individual store's sales figures.

If we have 100 of an item that the next store has 10 we will hafta reduce a ton more than they will- Alot of times if an item gets deleted and its a decent seller we may just choose to sell out rather than clearance it-

it may also mean your store orders fairly efficently (ordered as much as they sold) and their distrubution center likes them (doesn't dump lots of non selling merch on them)

As for associates getting things- Its a fine line over what we can get that day or not- ie if its Toy Clearance they prefer that the toy dept waits 24 hours before purchasing as a saftey net so you cant get accused of marking down for your own good (say I mark a bunch of item A down to 2 dollars from 10 and then buy them all)
