I'll write a real TR later, but for now...

We arrived at Hojo a little after 2 and our room wasn't ready...they pretty much told us to take EVERYTHING out of our car, so we checked everything except our cases of water. :) No worries there.

I figured it would be cool enough that I could tie my sweatshirt around my waist and wear my trenchcoat over top of it...yeah, nothing doing.

We got into the parks about 2:30. While the sun was out, it was comfortable in short sleeves and thin pants! So we shelled out the $7 (sigh) for a locker. Since we have APs, though, $7 split between 2 people isn't a bad price for admission. ;)

I'm so glad that we went in summer last, because it un-spoiled me, so now the crowds seem downright tiny to me! Main Street/etc. was fairly crowded, but wait times seemed insanely low. When we got in, the board showed Space Mountain at 20 minutes, Indy at 10, Nemo at 20, etc., etc. All the rides that offered Fastpass (with the possible exception of Splash Mountain, which was down when we got in) had plenty of them available well into the evening, which was another pleasant surprise (I was used to them being out for good by early afternoon). Actually, in the case of Space Mountain, we went up the Fastpass line but there was no one to take it so we ended up in the same line as everyone else... Fantasyland was the only thing that was crazy-busy when we went. Small World Holiday had a 45 minute line, but we think part of that may be due to the fact that it had gone down just 30 minutes prior. Anyway, aside from Fantasyland we could do pretty much anything we wanted with no more than 15 minute wait.

The ONLY bad thing was that I lost my LGMH on Indy, less than 2 hours into the park, I think. :flower3: I do have a back-up but if that meets the same end then I am going to have a really sad makeshift Mickey head...so if you are in the parks and see a paper Mickey head on someone's bag, it may be me. :)

Early on, we saw Tiana's Showboat Jubilee and I enjoyed it very much. I'm coming to love those songs! It wasn't crowded at all.

AND, I got to see Murphy! Well, I technically saw her twice; "Miss D" and I hung out for the end of the first show, snuck down front and very near-center before fireworks, and then went forward further as people left after the snow. We actually didn't need to be nearly as aggressive as we were to get good seats; the 10:30 show looked a lot less heavily attended and I think we could've sat in the terraced area at 10 if we wanted to.

Fantasmic was perfect! Murphy even behaved like Murphy, as she did not go down all the way, so they put up the mist of sparkles to "hide" her from view as the Mark Twain went by. I was perhaps too excited to see something to differently than it was meant to; oh dear. At least it was the 10:30 show!

Anyway, it was just a DELIGHTFUL day to be in the parks. I do still have to meet Tiana, but other than that I've accomplished everything I felt I really had to do at Disneyland. (And never set foot in DCA, true enough... :rolleyes1 )

Thanks for the quick recap, Eva.

So glad you are having fun and the crowds are low. I think by the weekend it will be a mad house again.:sad2: And it has been cold this week. Barely 60 degrees. The trenchcoat would have never left my body!

Glad to hear about your perfect day Eva.

We also arrived yesterday, but headed to DCA to meet friends. We had about the same kind of day, the only long wait was TSMM, that was 40 minutes - we skipped it since we have other days to catch it.

I will look for your LGMH in the crowds. Unfortunately I don't have one.

Yes, unless it actually rains, I agree that the weekend will likely be crazy. Wednesday night was sort of crowded, actually, but it was so darned cold (for Southern Californians and Arizonans) that a lot of people left early, I'm sure. Since we have Fantasmic out of the way, we can take advantage of the late night today--we actually walked out through Frontierland instead of the throng of people in Adventureland, so I don't know what the standby was on any rides at 10:55. (We were hardly on Main Street when Disneyland closed!)

(We did have a FP for Indy but since we hadn't actually put our stuff in our room yet, we thought it would be a good idea to just go home instead of staying in the parks past 11!)

Sounds like a great day!! :) Can't wait to see you on Saturday!!! Maybe I'll make you a new LGMH since I've got so many of them....LOL :)

Yay for a great start to your visit! We had a great short trip ~ both Mon & Tues were short days for us but we accomplished a lot (even DCA) during those 2 days!

Why did they want you to take everything out of your car. Is there a lot of theft?

There actually isn't a lot of theft- and that's because we encourage everyone to take everything out of their cars, to make it as unappealing as possible! And we do have a secure Luggage Room that we can store all of your belongings in until your room is ready for check-in. :thumbsup2

We just prefer to be safe, rather than sorry. The last thing anyone needs is a break-in spoiling what was supposed to be a fun vacation!

Hope this helps!

Sounds like you had a great time! :goodvibes

We're going tomorrow. I hope to see lots of LGMH in the parks (and hopefully not too wet).

Thanks, everyone!

LOL, pixiewings71! You're sweet! What's funny is that on Indy today, I saw a LGMH in the floor of the car as I got out! I'm thinking, "what are the odds that I'd find my LGMH a day later?" But no; my friend's had fallen off. Watch your LGMHs in Indy!

Today was just more of the same...no rain, fairly chilly, and modest lines throughout! Fantasyland was a zoo when we got in at opening (due to Magic Morning, I'm sure, but maybe also the large numbers of tourists and children). I don't know that the threat of rain deterred too many visitors; I think the crowds were pretty similar to Wednesday. Lovely! We started the day at DL but DCA was pretty open until maybe 3 PM--just a few minute wait for Soarin', and even Toy Story said a 15 minute wait at about 2 PM (it was maybe more like a 20 minute wait, or quickly developed into one).

Everything predicts rain tomorrow and Saturday, so we'll see what happens there! My mom came about 4:05 and I did kind of a forced march to New Orleans Square so we could catch the 4:15 Tiana's Showboat Jubilee, because of course I wanted to see it again, but really I thought Mom would like it very much and with the rain predicted I wasn't sure it would be running Friday and Saturday. She did like it, although the voodoo part bothered her. :flower3:

I'm so glad you had a wonderful day! We'll be there on Sunday and it's supposed to rain. :(

Thanks I was curious. I will have my laptop with me and am worried someone might steal it out of my room.

Doesn't Hojo have safes in every room?

The morning of today was very nice and just a little busier than every other day. We got to Peter Pan's Flight early (but not the first, awww, so we had to wait for about a minute to get on :) ).

My only advice is do NOT go out of your way even a tiny bit to see the program "Wintertime Enchantment Holiday Lighting" for Sleeping Beauty Castle. There's a reason we couldn't find it on the Disneyland program. We were silly to come back from DCA early to see it, but I thought I'd read that it was good?

It sprinkled slightly throughout the day--I heard the 6:30 parade was canceled?--and crowds started to get heavy by the end of the day. 60 minute standby for Space Mountain around 10:30. Around 10 PMit started raining pretty heavy. We'll see how Saturday is! (I just wish my shoes were more waterproof. :( )
