Just a PSA to all those out there with AT&T cell phones. They announced a change to texting plans staring today. All unlimited texting plans now include unlimited mobile to any mobile calling. You have to proactively ask for the change, so make sure you go online, call in, or go in to a store and ask them to change your unlimited texting plan to include mobile to any mobile calling.

There is one bit of fine print, you have to be on a minimum of 450 min individual plan or 700 min family plan to get it.

I just switched mine over and lowered my minute plan down because I know 98% of the calls I make are to other cell phones. I hope this can save you money like it did for me!

I just told hubby today that we needed to upgrade our minutes because we were almost out. My friend has a different cell phone provider so this would help out a lot!

Does this include other carriers or just at&t to at&t.

still deciding between renewing w/Verizon and going for the iphone or going to At&t....

My husband likes verizon since most of his friends have it and its free verizon to verizon

decisions decisions..

AT&T -> AT&T was always unlimited under my plan. The new incentive allows you to call ANY mobile phone without using your minutes.

We have so many rollover minutes that this makes no difference for us. My calling plan is so old that it is grandfathered in. I've been with AT&T since my husband bought me my first cellular phone in the '90s. The thing looks like the one that Gordon Gekko gets when he leaves prison in Wallstreet 2. :rotfl2:

Can I make a suggestion....we have been Verizon and AT&T customers for 15 years now and we finally just broke free of them last week. We are now using Virgin Mobile. I got the LG Optimus Android phone (which is AMAZING) and my plan is costing me $40 a month for 1200 talk minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data. No contract! Check them out before you get locked into ridiculous prices for another 2 years. :thumbsup2

AT&T Introduces Unlimited Calling to Any Mobile Number

New Feature Offers AT&T Wireless Customers Unlimited Calling to Any Mobile Number
Dallas, Texas, February 09, 2011

Go ahead and dial up those digits--no matter which wireless network you’re calling. AT&T* today announced customers can enjoy unlimited mobile calling to any mobile number in America. Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile is available to AT&T customers with an unlimited messaging plan and a qualifying voice plan**.

Beginning Thursday, Mobile to Any Mobile will be available to new and existing AT&T customers with a qualifying voice plan who subscribe to unlimited messaging plans. Existing customers with an unlimited messaging plan can activate Mobile to Any Mobile by visiting www.att.com/anymobile. The URL will be available beginning Thursday.

“Mobile to Any Mobile is an exciting offer that will keep our customers connected to the people they want to talk to, when they want to talk to them, without the hassle of watching minutes,” said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “We’re giving customers more options and even better value. And when you include Rollover Minutes, a benefit available exclusively from AT&T that lets customers keep their unused minutes for all domestic calls, including to landline numbers, it’s clear that AT&T offers the most flexibility in the industry.”

Unlimited messaging is available for $20 per month on an individual plan and $30 per month for a FamilyTalk Plan, which allows for up to five lines.

Ah, we're grandfathered in on an old plan that they don't even offer anymore and it doesn't qualify for the new mobile to any mobile. I'd have to go with a more expensive rate plan. I won't do that unless we got close to using up our Rollover minutes.

Oh well. We've never gone over our minutes but lately my Mom has been chatting it up like crazy with my Sister and her Verizon phone and bringing us closer. I'll keep it in mind if she ever gets to the point where she's sending us over.

Thanks for the information!

I just called and I am not eligible because of my grandfathered plan. :headache:

For the same price that I pay now, I can add Mobile to Mobile free anytime but lose 150 minutes of anytime minutes.

Dang, now I have to figure out how we're actually using the minutes (if they're mobile or land). :surfweb:

We're also still part of an older plan - there's no way I'm switching!

This is a great new plan though :)

We LOVE AT&T... they have amazing customer service. We're switching to Uverse this week, too.

I am on hold as I'm typing this, I have the 700 minute family plan for just under the $69.99 minimum and they are letting me add it.

I was told at first I didn't qualify for it but because my plan is discounted to $61 but it's normally $69.99 so they let me add it. It's a great deal for my family because now my husband who wants an iphone can add it to my family plan without spending more on a higher plan for more minutes. Yay!

Thanks!!

Thank you for this. It worked for me! I called AT&T and they gave me the Mobile to ANY Mobile feature.

For you AT&T iphone users, you can text 'yes' to 11113020 for 1000 free Rollover minutes. (A thank you from AT&T for you not switching to Verizon)

Thank you so much! Got right through on the dedicated CSLine and no problem putting all 5 of our phones on the new mobile to mobile upgrade. also lowered my Data plan as I hadn't come close to using what I had on there in months even with new IPhone so saving $15 a month now as well. nice!

hhhmmm, now what to do with those 3000 RO minutes, the CS agent and I both laughed over that one! But you never know since we no longer even have a land line to use! Last month I ended up on the phone with Disney for 3 hours to straighten out a reservation problem and that's a lot of minutes!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Read my post right under yours. I just may do it just for kicks to see that many RO minutes at once! After all I do lose 365 this next billing cycle!

thanks for the tip!

We LOVE AT&T... they have amazing customer service. We're switching to Uverse this week, too.

I saw this today looking at the AT&T website but forgot to ask what that is all about? ?? Uverse??? Care to enlighted me?

I too love AT&T customer service and do not think I will ever switch.

So, what is Uverse? :confused3

I always do all my Customer Service on the phone not the website or on my IPhones network so I guess I can google it up or call back and ask but an objective opinion might be nice.

You're welcome!
:rotfl: You should do it to see thousands of Rollover minutes on your acct! I hate when they expire.:headache:

Thank you for posting this. I knew nothing about it.

I went from the 900 minutes to 450 a few months ago to save money, and I already had the unlimited texts, so the price per month won't change for me. However, I WILL get more minutes since most of my phone calls are to other cell phones - and not all of them AT&T!

Uverse is AT&T's fiber optic TV, internet, and phone product line. It's only available in certain areas and WONDERFUL! I have it and love it. I am getting much faster speeds on my internet, and the TV quality is so much better than what it used to be on my cable provider.

Wow thanks OP!! I just got off the phone with AT&T and switched over to this new plan! :goodvibes

And because of this I was able to lower my anytime minute package, saving me $20.00 per month on our bill!
I love the budget board, hope I can return the favor soon! :thumbsup2
