At Saratoga springs ended badly

Ok, sorry for having offended. I was only noting that I have read so many bad experiences, that I think the place needs a fresh start. I think folks may have taken me a little too seriously.

I love Disney and everything about it. I just think the place has bad chi...

We have never had a bad stay there, maybe its not the place that has the bad chi. ;)

We have had bad stays at other DVC resorts, and I would never ever think it should be destroyed and started over.

The worst that has happened to DVC is bad upper management. Sadly I am not sure we can hope for anything better until that changes.

And everyone please let DVC know about the bus situation, they need to stop this constant trafficing of people to Downtown Disney. When they stopped buses running from DD to the parks they did not stop the problem they simply pushed it off on SSR instead.

I am sure it was just a bad run for us on that trip. Everyone has a bad stay sometime, especially when we go as often as we do. I think the resort is beautiful which is why I can't understand why it has such problems.

Again, I certaintly didn't mean for people to take me so seriously and get so upset. We're all here because we love Disney - even with the quirks we encounter. :)

For those I offended, I am very sorry.

I agree that mousekeeping shouldn't barge in. They shouldn't even knock before checkout time. If you're trying to sleep in, why would you owe it to them to wake up, answer the door and tell them to go away? That's what a "Do not disturb" sign is for. However, I can also tell you (with a smile) about a trip through South America some years ago. In every first-class hotel, in every country we visited, the housekeeper or room service would simply walk in the door, shout "Permission!" (pronounced per-MISS-ee-OHN) and then start to work, no matter who was walking by unclothed.

:rotfl2: hilarious! I have had trouble with housekeeping also, ignoring the DDD signs. walking in when I am sleeping (not dressed, either) i hate it when they knock on the door, disturbing me, to make sure I don't want to be disturbed.:confused3

:thumbsup2 Always nice to apologize, shows class.

We have had the same experience at BWV. We have tried 4 times to stay there and each time it has been a disaster. We were given a room with a broken bed, we went to the parks, stayed out late, came back and went to bed, only to end up on the floor. They were completely booked and we spent the night on the floor. The next morning the on duty manager said that room was taken out of service due to maintenance issues and we should have never been given the room. They had to move us to another resort. One other stay they lost our keys to our car in valet, it took them 2 days to find them. One other stay when you flushed the toliet it came out in the tub. :scared1:

I know it is a great resort. I love the look of it, I like the location, I even like the pool, but for some reason the resort just does not like us, :lmao:

We have the worst luck there. So I have resigned myself to just accept it and stay at all the other wonderful places at Disney.

Okay...the tub comment just did me in...yuck! I think I would have trouble getting over that one!!!:rotfl:

We have only stayed a few times with our DVC but as you mention, problems abound no matter where you stay. There are things we all should be able to count on and when they don't happen, we must be diligent of getting the problem corrected immediately and then let DVC know of its occurrence and how it was resolved (if it was).

But we also have to try to remember that things happen and have to try to move on with our vacation--which it sounds like the OP tried to do.

Thanks Sammie, my goal on the boards is not to upset people, but to share info and experiences. I don't come here to point fingers, be mean or anything else. Like I said, I didn't mean anything in any way to offend people.

So sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at BWV. I am really surprised to hear that. It is a lovely resort. Maybe they are just getting so much use, the maintenance just can't keep up. Sorry to hear about the toilet issue...ew!

You didn't offend me. I knew you were just venting a very frustrating experience in a colorful way. Besides words only have the power to offend if the listener/reader allows it.

I was caught off guard by the "burn it down" comment. I actually found it humorous and not offensive at all. Let's just say that you were relieving stress in a comical manner! Like yourself, I also love being a member of DVC and have no plans to sell our contracts but you have to admit the fact: There are severe housekeeping issues which need to be resolved. My family visits the DVC resorts in Orlando about 6 times a year and we have had housekeeping issues 5 out of 6 trips per year. The two worst resorts for problems are consistently SSR and BLT. Because of its location and monorail access, BLT is our first choice. Maybe the housekeeping issues aren't so bad afterall huh? It is frustrating to shell out the annual dues and then walk into a poorly cleaned and maintained villa. I have written the Member Services Satisfaction Team and always get an apologetic reply stating that the issues will be resolved immediately. I have also returned to the DVC resort in question a month later during a different vacation only to find that nothing had been done to resolve the issues I reported. Where should we turn for action? :rolleyes1

I was being sarcastic. I see now that it does not translate well. :confused3

I agree. All the money spent on vacations, etc., you would expect to walk into a clean and maintained facility. I never had problems outside of SSR like these. It's crazy!

My family has been staying in all the DVC resorts since July 2007. From my experience, VWL have been the best maintained. My room has also always been ready at check in at VWL too.
