Hi,

We checked into POR yesterday morning and it is great. It took less than 10mins to get through the line for check in. The lobby was a happening place around 11am yesterday morning. The CM Eliot that checked us in was great. He was "visiting" from the GF and he was able to work his magic and get us into a room upon checkin. Our only requirement was a nonsmoking room for medical reasons so I think the less requests you have the more of a chance you have of getting into a room before the official check in time. We are in building 37 which is just fine with us as we were in building 38 during our last stay here in Nov 2005 and we find the stroll to the main building to be relaxing. The room is fine. The foodcourt could be set up a little better but it is what it is and we knew that from our last stay and to us it is not a deciding factor on staying here or not.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

There have been a lot of posts lately about poor mousekeeping at POR. Anything to report on that? DH and I were there last November and there was one day when room was not cleaned very well, the shelf above the padded bench looked like it had not been dusted in months, and we were not given coffee refills but that was it. We are heading back down in 37 days :cheer2: and are just wondering if poor mousekeeping is sporadic or the norm?

Thanks! And have a wonderful time!! :Pinkbounc

How is the bus service there? I have heard so many differing reports on this! Maybe since now is a less busy time, it is not terrible! We are going in October 2007 and I just wanted to know how the bus service is now compared to busier times of the year. Thanks!!!

Are they still in the process of refurbishing bldgs in the AB sections. If so could you indicate which ones they are doing. Thanks

hi princess:
thanks for the update. Don't you just love the POR. We stayed in building 39 across from the quiet pool. I wish I was there now! :thumbsup2

Hi,
The mousekeeping has been fine so far. We checked in yesterday and the room was in good shape when we checked in. Today we were out of the room at 8:45am and came back at 2pm and the room was already made up and yes we did not a replacement of the coffee packet that we used in the morning.

We used the buses this morning to go to the Studios and to come back from the Studios and both times were fine. The bus came within 10mins of arriving at the stop this morning and coming back the bus was waiting at the stop. Niether bus was full so everyone had a seat.

We have not noticed any sort of construction or rehabing going on here in our section of AB. We are in building 37 and can see 36, 38 and 39 and everything looks normal.

You are welcome. To be honest there was a time when I did not think that I would enjoy this resort and only stayed here due to friends that we were traveling with last year have 3 children so our choices were limited and we stayed here and we decided that we liked the resort and was a good value for your dollar. We do like it very much even though we would perfer a savanna view room at the AKL but we have a limit on the price we are willing to pay for any room. Thanks.

Thanks for your replies, Tiffany!! DH and I love POR -- it will be our fifth stay there in November -- but were getting worried by the amount of negative reports lately.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!!! :)

Thank you for the live resort update. Hope you are having the time of your life at Disney.

Thanks for all the good info..........What are the carriage rides like? And about how far of a walk is it to the food court and bus stops from Magnolia Trerrace? This will be our 2nd visit to the world and 1st time on property. Enjoy your time there! We have requested a water view corner room. How is the weather and pool temps?:wizard:

You are welcome. For the price POR is a good value. We did not have any issues with housekeeping and all of the buses came with in 20 mintues of us arriving at a stop and in fact all but one bus came within 10mins and one was 15min. It was just that due to the size of this resort every bus was standing room only so if you are okay with full noisey buses then we should be okay.

Hi,

We have not done the carriage rides. The walk from our room in building 37 of AB is about 10mins to the foodcourt. For two adults it is a nice relaxing walk but I could see how it would be a long walk if you have young children in your traveling party.

Did you pay for a water view room or did you just request one? The water view rooms cost more at POR so unless you paid for one please do not get your hopes up for a water view room.

The weather has been great and the main pool temp was just fine the two times we used it this past week.

Thank you for all the additional info..........we are visiting the world with our 18 year old daughter, who is a Disney addict like us. We did in fact pay for a water view room and will call 3 days before we leave just to confirm our requests for a corner room as well. The pools sound great, and we plan to check out a quite pool the evening we arrive. Sorry to here your stay is over, but looking forward to hearing about your trip....photos?...........So now you know what's next..........start planning again........an addict true passion....thanks again! :wizard:

We stayed at the Acadian House (right behind the Magnolia Terrace) last week. The walk from our room to the food court was about 5 minutes (even with the 3 and 5 year old). I loved POR and would highly recommend it to anyone!

You are welcome. We already have two future trips that are in the works. One in Dec for a long weekend and then one in Jan where we are going to spend a couple of days in Tampa to do Busch Gardens and then head over to WDW for the rest of the week.

Maggie, Thanks for the good info and we can hardly stand the wait......POR just sounded so good to us!
Tiffiny, we will be at POR Dec. 7th to Dec. 17th. When is your Dec. weekend? :wizard:

Hi,
We are going to be in WDW from the 15th through the 18th. We are currently booked at POR but we might be changing to the Swan or Dolphin as we plan on spending most of our time at EC on that trip.
