I came down with a hurt knee and planned to walk it. After MK the first day it was worse. I bought a cane and after EPCOT, I,m burnt! Sad but I think I need a meniscus and MCL repair. I don't want to hold back my DW, DD or her friend is it looks like I'm getting a ECV for AK and HS. I know a lot about Disney but this is a new realm. What do I need to know. I can transfer to a ride. I just can't do steps anymore or walk any distance.

Who is the first person at a ride I should contact? Are there any rides at AK or HS that I should be warned are ECV unfriendly? (unfriendly is harsh but I can't think of a better term right now)

Thanks!

my dad uses an ecv but also takes his cane with him for when he is going between where he parks ecv and gets on ride. you will see the cm at the handicap enterance and they will direct you from there. you'll be fine, they make it easy.

if you are hurting, I would get one for each park. you can keep your companions with you as you go on each ride.

Most attraction at each park are accessible from the regular line, so there are no handicapped entrances.

All attractions are wheelchair accessible to the point of boarding, but śome are not ECV accessible. You can tell the difference on the park maps and signs by each attraction. If there is just a wheelchair symbol or shows a wheelchair with someone getting out of it, it is both wheelchair and ECV accessible.
If the symbol shows an ECV with the person getting out and getting into a wheelchair, then you would need to switch to a wheelchair fom an ECV. Those attractions do have wheelchairs available tht you could switch to - just ask.

Each attraction has a greeter somewhere near the entrance who will direct you where's ou need to go. In most cases, that will just be the regular line.

Thank you! We just finished AK with my ECV and I feel so much better! I have to make the comment that I don't see why people think it gets you to the front of the line. I acted just the same as if I were walking. I got no advancements in line that knew of. One time for Dinasaur I took an elevator down and may have gained on a very few people. I only say this because I have heard about it being taken advantage of but can't see how? I didn't mean to stay off topic. Sorry.

We are getting ready to HOP to MK for night parades ans Wishes. This time yesterday, I was hurting so much all I wanted was to lie down. Thank you for your help. I know my need is only temporary but I appreciate your willingness to help. Thank you!
