Hi everyone!

I was wondering if there had been any news about Disney Resort or Disney Park tickets being at par (US prices being sold to Canadians for Canadian dollars) between now and the beginning of August. I have a CAA membership and they told me to wait to see if Disney announces anything before I buy tickets. Has anyone has heard anything?

Thanks :confused3

Disney has not had the "at par" tickets for a few years now. They were doing a "buy one get one half price" offer but have stopped that also.

Last year they did have a "package at Par" and "rooms at par" but if you are going in August and nothing has been announced it is unlikely anything new will come out.

Disney may not offer at par prices for the last few years, but CAA has recently done this a few times. Anyone know if CAA will be offering this again soon?

Is it tickets or rooms you are inquiring about?

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific. What Disney offers is what CAA sells.

CAA has not sold any "CDN at par" tickets for over 8 years when they switched to "buy one get one half price" which ended 2 years ago. Even through all those promotions these tickets were never valid in the summer. October to April was the use year for them. I use to rely on these specials so I know exactly when they stopped.

Now if you are thinking of a room only code or a package code for Canadians these have been coming out in the last few years. I haven't seen to many this year though unfortunaltely. I think because our dollar is doing so much better Disney doesn't feel the need to offer many incentives for us.

Mousesavers has no current Canadian promotions listed as of yet.

I got the at par package last year and we went this past January. It didn't come out though until about Sept if I remember right.

I am also waiting for an at par deal to come out for our trip in August. Every summer (I read the travel section in the T.O. Star regularly) Disney seems to come out with a summer deal in June and usually the deal is for summer trips that are booked by June 28. Last summer I remember it was "stay for 7 nights pay for 5 (friends of ours did that--I think that was for room only not theme park tickets)--not an amazing deal but some savings to be had. I keep watching the travel section and so far they just advertise the new MYW plan quoting the baseline price of a family of four can stay for $1500us or 1900Cnd). I am still hopeful something will come out my agent from DU is looking for us to. :rotfl: :flower:

Hi,

This year's deal for fall will be available tomorrow. For arrivals between august 21st and october 4th with a minimum of 3 nights stay, the dining plan will be free !

Must be booked between june 2nd and july 3rd.

WDWorld: Thanks for the tip. Too bad the dates aren't good for me. Can you tell us where you got the information re: free dining plan?

Hi,

What exactly is a free dining plan?

If you book a package including an on-site resort stay and at least a 1 day ticket then you get free dining. The restrictions are:
- Must be booked between June 2 and July 3
- Travel must be between August 21 and October 4 (arrival date)
- New reservations only
- Dining plan includes 1 counter service, 1 table service and 1 snack per person, per day. Kids have to order off the kid's menu.

ETA: This is the same dining plan that you can add on to your ticket/resort package for a fee the rest of the time. It's just free if you happen to be staying during those dates.

I too am waiting for word on a room at par deal for end of Sept/ early Oct, anyone remember what the specific deal was last year for that time.

I currently have a spreadsheet going trying to find out if it is worth buying an annual pass since that code came out yesterday. If they offer a room at par price then it works out about even for a stay at the Poly.

Fingers crossed !!!

Micheme; remember that the AP also entitles you to buy the Disney Dining Experience card (DDE), which gets you a full 20% off of your entire bill at any Disney table service restaurant (plus the three counter service ones at AK). Now this 20% comes off of the total bill, including wine and other drinks, which other discounts do not do. And it works for Character meals also. We broke even on the $50 cost for DDE in our second day, and ended up saving big time in the 10 days we've spent at Disney so far this year.

And remember, all you are going to need is one adult AP to get the room discounts and the DDE card. Just be sure to include some of this additional discount in your considerations; the dining discount is hard to include a hard number on you spreadsheet, however (tho I have quantified it by taking our usual per day food expense and taking 15% of that as the added discount, since we generally have one meal per day in the room or counter service).

:sunny: :flower: :rotfl: :goodvibes :cool1: :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: I am soooo excited I just got a email from my DU travel agent to say we got the meal plan deal (we just squeaked in as we leave Aug 21--hopefully we can get a good flight)l!!! This is saving us over $700US.

Thoughts of winter just became a little warmer as Walt Disney World announces Packages At-Par. VISA cardholders will be able to enjoy the world famous Walt Disney World theme parks and selected Resort Hotels this winter. When cardholders book with their VISA cards Dream Maker
packages are priced At-Par.

"Canadians love At-Par and we are thrilled to be offering a package which
includes both a room and a theme park ticket as part of the Disney At-Par
offer," explains Bruno Jauernig, Director of Marketing and Sales for Walt
Disney Parks and Resorts, The Walt Disney Company ( Canada ) Ltd. "With so much
to see and do, this winter is the perfect time to visit all four of our
world-renowned theme parks and experience all of our new attractions including
Stitch's Great Escape, new to the Magic Kingdom this fall."

The Disney At-Par adjustment, based on a fixed rate of $0.72 USD (equal
sign) $1 CAD, is applied at the time of booking. All prices are in US Dollars.
For example, if the price before the At-Par adjustment is $738 USD, the
adjusted price would be $531.36 USD. (See below for more detailed At-Par
pricing information.)

This limited time offer is available when a Walt Disney Travel Company
Dream Maker package is booked with your VISA card from now until
December 1, 2004 . This offer is available for travel most nights Sunday
through Thursday and occasionally on weekends January 2 through
April 16, 2005 . There are a limited number of packages available and this
offer may not be combined with any other offer.

"We received a tremendous response from our cardholders when this offer
was created last year, and we are delighted to once again provide our
cardholders with the opportunity to share in the magic of a Walt Disney World
vacation with this At-Par offer," said Brenda Woods, Vice President, Consumer
Marketing, Visa Canada . "There's no better way to experience the Walt Disney
World Resort than with this offer, and there's no better way to book this
offer than with your VISA card."

The Walt Disney Travel Company Dream Maker package includes
accommodations for three or more nights at selected value, moderate or deluxe
Walt Disney World Resort hotels, plus Disney's Ultimate Park Hopper ticket,
which provides admission to all four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks
throughout your stay.
