We are in a two bedroom HH with two adults and four teens. Our villa was ready when we checked in a few days ago at 11:00 am. Finally, a little check in magic! :woohoo:

The living area is so big. It's great for hanging out when we are all in the villa at the same time. I've only stayed in a studio before the remodel, but I like the decor. Having wood floors feels so much cleaner. The countertops look really nice as well as the couches. The only thing I don't understand is why is the pullout couch mattress so crummy? The pull out chair is great.

I also like being near the HH. Not having the extra door to the master bath is no problem. It's really hot and humid, so the quick walk to the HH is appreciated. But why do the pool DJ's need to be so loud?

Have a blast! We will be there in Jan. 2012 in a 1BR. I've only stayed in studios there. I can't wait to luxuriate in all that square footage! :goodvibes

Thanks for the report. :worship:

My DW and I will be there in 51 days and we are looking forward to staying there for the first time.

We've been in love with the resort since our first ride on Magical Express when it dropped people off on our way to POFQ. :thumbsup2

OKW is still our favorite too after 14 plus years!

Another thing I've noticed is that the crowd here tends to be very friendly. Talking to people it seems like a lot of people who own here have done so for a long time and stay at this resort regularly. :)

Sounds like a wonderful time! We did much the same in June, with (6) 14 years old boys, what a blast!

We all enjoyed taking the boat to DTD at night to get Ghirardelli's Ice Cream! It's a nice way to cap off an evening!

I realize things weather-wise can change, but we are heading down in 8 days and I was curious how somebody actually down there is dealing with the heat/humidity. We've never been in August. Are you spending a lot of time in the pool? Are you finding the parks bearable if you take breaks and don't overdo it? How are the crowds?

Now that you mention it, it is different at some of the other resosrt. At AKV & BWV's, in those hallways, people are at times hesitant to make high contact , never mind saying hello!

I wonder if when they did the remodel if they left the old pull out couch? Maybe someone else will have the answer to that?

I just got back actually. We were there last month in a one bedroom and loved it. This time not so much because you have to walk through the master bedroom and tub area to get to the shower and toilet. I do not like that configuration at all. Guess it's hit or miss if the villa is set up that way.

Besides that, I just love this resort!

This discussion is painful to read since I'm not there now! ;)

I'm with you! I am in the throes of begging my DBF to go back for a 3rd time this year. We have to use our annuals 'just one more time' before they expire!! :yay:

Good question. Taking lots of showers. :lmao:

I'm a Syracusan who is used to coming down here Presidents Week. We've had a hot summer back home, but it is really, really humid here. It's a sweaty mess. lol. But we just finished day three, and I'm getting used to it. Wear light colors, get the hair out of your face, forget makeup. As far as parks go, take your time and forget trying to do parks commando style. Obviously drink lots of water and don't overeat. The kids have been taking full advantage of extra magic night hours.

The pool honestly isn't much of a help. The water is so warm that it doesn't cool you down. Forget laying in the sun. My husband I went down there at 9:00 this morning, and it was really nice.

Those of you who are used to this are probably laughing at my wimpiness, but now I know how you feel when you come up my way in January. Except we seek out the A/C while you seek out the furnace. ;)

If you ask for villas number 30 and above there is a door from the laundry room into the bathroom for the 1 and 2 BR villas. It would be just a request but it might help. Many of the villas in the HH area have the configuration you had so if you do not like it don't ask for that area when you make your reservation.

Love OKW as our home. I think the room size is what has made the stay their so homey. Been going to OKW since 93 when we joined DVC.
