At OKW NOW with Kids Part II

Well so far the weather has been great except for the occasional thunder boomers that come through in the afternoons.


Tonight we went to Epcot and viewed illuminations and the TON parade. They were both wonderful and video taped Illuminations. I got some really good pictures of the Space Ship Earth and the new Epcot logo with the magic wand and hand from Morocco. I will try to post them to my website beforeI get back but if not check with me the first of the week next week.

They have several areas under construction. The Pasta Piazza is closed. The fountain is all drained and covered up for some reason.

It is pretty pitiful that we are hooked so deep into the Disney things. My DW (jcdisneyfan) and I are already starting to think of all of the places that we want to eat at when we are here in November this year.

We are eating with Pooh, Tigger and Eyeore for breakfast at Olivias tomorrow and then tomorrow evening we are eating at 1900 Park Fair for one of the last Vilians Dinners that they will have. Apparently the Vilians dinner is being discontinued after dinner on the 9th. On the 10th it will be another 100 Acre Woods Character Dinner. Tommorow is also special because it is our 5th year aniversary. I have something planned at the dinner for her, we will have to see how it comes out.

Friday Morning we eat with the Princesses in Cindys Castle. My youngest DD is looking forward to that. The Villians Dinner is really for my oldest DD.

Well for now that is about all I have to write. I will write more later on.

ToN is leaving EPCOT October 1st and being replaced with a new parade for the Walt celebration. I am sure the new parade will be good, but i will really miss ToN. I love the music and the "puppets." Fortunately, we will be returning in August and will be able to enjoy it one last time...sniff...sniff.

I am glad you had a great time at EPCOT tonight.

I think it's great that they are replacing the Villians dinner at GF. We enjoy eating there but my youngest DD was so frightened!!! My middle DD was very reluctant to walk around. Pooh sounds great especially after stopping the Artist Point Breakfast!

We had a great waiter at Olivia's the other night for dinner. His name was Katoe and was so well informed about the menu.

OhioMickey, from what I saw of the announcements, ToN is not being replaced with a new parade Oct 1; they are simply going to make some changes to the current parade (like changing the words of the introduction) but it will still be basically the one that is there now.

I hope you are right about TON having only minor changes. However, INTERCOT'S WDW Info website reports the following:

"The popular Tapestry of Nations at EPCOT will be replaced by a parade featuring new characters entitled Dream Spinners."

My daugher is in the TON parade!! I am so proud of her and happy she got this opportunity throught the WDW College Program. I'll bet you saw her last night and didn't even know it. From what she tells me, TON will only be revised. It will be called Tapestry of Dreams. There will be new music and choreography. Don't know if there will be any speaking at the beginning and end of the parade, but there will NOT be a SAGE character. Guess they want to get people off of stilts because there were some injuries to CM's. It is such a wonderful parade--hope it remains that way with the changes.

New music? Bummer. I just LOVE the ToN music.

Well, here's to hoping it's something wonderful that will make me not pine away for the first!

Then again, I'm still longing for the MSEP to return...forever!!! :/
