I got check from the insurance co to fix my car. I didn't have to get estimates, they estimated :confused3 but I guess it's enough. They are also going to give me lost wages, as long as I sign a release saying I wasn't injured, and not come back at them again...

So, things are looking up at my house...hope this is a new trend!!!!!! Just had to share!!!

Yeah!! Now time to schedule that appt. for the car to be fixed.. make sure you get a couple of estimates to get it fixed so you won't have to pay anything out of pocket! They are usually really good about being close to the cost.. Good thing you got your lost wages too.. Now, put your hands in your ears and stick you tongue out at your dumb boss! LOL

Yep! Napoleon!
I'd tell everyone what you said but we'd probably get points..
Both Buffy and Dyan would need new monitors and keyboards! (*oh wait they both have laptops, that could be very expensive!*)

yeah, don't need any points :lmao: things are on an upswing here :teeth:

yeah!

Now, my next question is.. why are some people so stupid?
I volunteered to help do something.. the lady emailed me back and told me it isn't fair for me to do it and have a preschool child.. WHAT? Do you not know who you are talking to??? I have 5 children of my own, I watch 2 others full time and I have NEVER had a problem volunteering.. just because she does DOES not mean I can't balance my kids, my free time and my volunteer work! And than she wondered why I left the board! Well, here is your explanation.. You want volunteers.. when the volunteers come forward, you tell them that because they have kids it's not fair.. Now, where in the world do you think you are going to get your volunteers for the school?? Perhaps the parents? Maybe it's just me.. am I wrong? *slaps palm to forehead*

that is dumb... she have a bad experience with preschool parents or something? Maybe she took on too much herself? It's kind of insulting to you also... I'd be miffed too

Well, it's one last thing you have to worry about right now... watch her come back to you when no one else steps up....or the do and drop the ball...

Then you can say "Oh, sorry, I can't I have a preschooler...." :lmao:

Well, I flat told her in my last email to find someone else than.. I'll volunteer in the classroom instead.. It takes 30 minutes to make these darn copies & get them into the mailboxes, especially since I know how to work the copiers and do them by class.. (been doing it w/ the school since DD was in kdg.. and what she is a freshman in HS..) this lady doesn't have older kids so she thinks because she doesn't all the rest of us don't.. HELLO???

I guess when she needs some help, I'll just delete her email! LOL

What a pain- at my school they took everyone who volunteered- I can't imagine vuluntarily reducing your volunteer list- that is just plain stupid.

Rebecca

What is so funny, is I was the President last year (her co-president).. and had been in previous years held all positions but teacher rep, principal and treasurer; so I know how the system works...

shakes head I guess she'll do it on her own then! LOL
I'll just volunteer in the classroom and be happy!!

Nancy- what a piece of work!!! Perhaps she's jealous? Geez, people.

That sounds like a perfect plan!! Good for you to be so dedicated and find a volunteer op that works best for you!!

We have the same problem at our school. They want volunteers but the control freakish types don't want to expand the committees to include any "unknowns". Its silly when the best interest of the kids should be the focus.

That or they will post "please leave siblings at home" or "no kids" at meetings. Um...sorry...still interviewing for that perfect nanny. Guess if I can't bring my DD1 then cross my name off the list. It's not like we are meeting to discuss national security.

Kids at meetings... they come here... I flat told them when I joined I was NOT hiring a babysitter to VOLUNTEER!! You should have seen all the "duh" sighs at the number of women who were paying sitters to watch their kids for them to volunteer.. NOT a chance.. Now I understand working in the classroom or w/ the kids no little ones...but for making copies in a work room... for 30 minutes...

It'll all come around... she'll keep trying to control and more and more will walk away like I did!

You know writing this list and than telling myself I can post after I have completed XYZ allows me a chance to check in throughout the day and get alot done here at the house.. It also helps that my "little tornados" are back in school so my work isn't undone as soon as I walk out of the room!! Ok, now my little tornado is home looking for a snack..better get this taken care of or he'll trash my clean kitchen!!!

nancy that is just plain out crazy w/ the volunteer thing! i tried to volunteer last year at my little man's Kindergarten class and it was tough. this school is soooooo clicky that they don't want to let new people in. Ok people lets think about this, your kids are getting bigger and moving on to different schools so when are you going to give up a little to the parents of the kids that go to this school?????? i just finally gave up and figured when he gets to 1st grade that will be another chance to try. new school, new parents!

Go directly to the teacher.. see if she will utilize you in the classroom a few hours when you have time!!!

We aren't so much clique-y..it's just this person is too darn controlling..and she knows how much I do on the side and behind the scenes..but it doesn't alter the fact.. I volunteered..so therefore I must have the time or I wouldn't have volunteered... DUH!

oh they just did not want to let anyone new in. thats all it was. so being that my man was in K and the "powers that be" kids were 1-5 it was like "hi you're new and we are all set-thanks" so i just blew it off. i did get to volunteer because i went to the source-the teacher-. but still. i see them now and i just look away.
like i said VERY clique-y! ICK that's what i say!
