I survived the sugar test! I was up pretty much all night last night b/c I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to drink that stuff (how ridiculous is that??). It actually wasn't bad at all--or maybe I was just relieved that it was nowhere near what I was expecting!! They gave me the bottle of stuff and told me that I had 5 minutes to drink it--and then they wanted to take my blood pressure at the same time that I had just started drinking the stuff. Needless to say, my blood pressure (which is normally low) was 166 over 90. The nurse about freaked!! They ended up having me lie down after the visit and checked it again, and it had dropped to 122 over 80, so all was well!
I saw the nurse practitioner for my visit right after drinking the stuff, and everything is good. SIOLB did his "trick" that he's been practicing for the past 2 months--as soon as they bring out the Doppler thingy to hear the heartbeat, he moves to the location of the scanner-thing and kicks it off of my stomach. This seems to entertain both him and them!!

She did say that I am measuring at 29 instead of the 27 weeks and 4 days that we are. So I have an appointment on the 30th (my reg appt) and they're going to do an ultrasound then to weigh him. After that, and depending on what it says, they'll just keep an eye on it until we can make delivery decisions.
I did get amused while waiting for the blood-drawing part. We had to watch 2 videos--pre-term labor and epidurals. Then, they gave us a stack of paperwork. The first page was the one about the 36-week visit (the class thing), and then the 2nd one was all of the available methods of birth control. I know that they have to do that so you have a plan and don't get pregnant again right away after the birth of this one, but I kept thinking, "Ok, that ship has sailed!!"
I should know something in 2 days about the test. Fingers crossed that I don't have to do the other one!!!
