:goodvibes Hi all. We checked in to Kidani yesterday. One bedroom. It is absolutely gorgeous. I was most surprised by the master bath!!!:cloud9: HUGE!! I want to move in....The resort itself is awesome. We have stayed at Jambo before but it is our first time to Kidani which happens to be our home resort. I am quite impressed by the water play pad area. Much larger than I thought it would be. The atmosphere is so homey and intimate compared to the resort I just checked out of (BCV) Now, I liked it too. The pool was phenomenal and the convenience to Epcot and HS was nice. But..... I have to say this has confirmed it for me....I CHOSE the RIGHT home resort for me and my family!! Kidani rocks!!!! BTW... the cast members here so far have been much more welcoming and personable....maybe just chance but this was a big difference noted between my 2 stays so far....
Off to enjoy......:goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi - Thanks for posting! Your comments really hit home with me as we stayed at BCV in May and went over to check out Kidani for our next trip. As much as I love BCV for convenience to Epcot and SAB, we can't wait to try Kidani! It seemed so much more "warmer" and the CM's were incredibly nice. We walked up to the front desk and when we explained it was our home resort they gave us a half-hour tour. When we looked out on the Savannah we asked ourselves "why didn't we stay here"?!?! So yes, I get where you are coming from. Have a great trip... look forward to hearing more! :goodvibes

Our home is AKL as well, we enjoy both highly, Jambo for the bigger pool and lounge/restaurant areas and the gift shop is really outstanding. But when we want to kick it back a notch or two and chill out / relax, Kidani is a gem! You are right in your description and it is very homey. We enjoy the circular lounge /fireplace area with the big screen as well and sometimes hang out there for a good bit of time watching a game. Although Kidani pool is much smaller, as far as for kids, it is the ultimate with the play area. The slide is also a homerun compared to many other slides.

We own at KV and love it! We leave Oct 18 for the world and KV. We fell in love we did not spend all that much time at the parks and more time at the resort. Love the pool. In Jan we will stay at BCV for a change.

We also own at Kidani and bought on a Disney cruise, site unseen. Like you, we have never been disappointed here. The cm's are fantastic, the rooms are exceptional and watching the animals from your balcony ... well, nothing compares to that for our family anyway.

We are staying at Jambo house for our next stay - can't beat the value studio points! So we are excited to try that. We stayed at AKL once for a night and enjoyed it, so we are now looking forward to a longer stay there at Christmas.

We're also trying the BCV for the first time too (doing a split stay now at Christmas ... 3 nights BCV and 6 nights Jambo studio).

We are Kidani owners and we love it.

We stayed for the first time last Christmas, and loved everything about it.

We are going to WDW in a few weeks and couldn't get into Kidani and we are disappointed, but we are staying in Sartoga Springs so will see what that is like.

Can't wait to get back to out "home" at in Kidani Village though.

I own at Kidani too. We've stayed there twice, and would be again if I didn't need to mix things up a bit.

My original worries that Kidani wouldn't live up to VWL were squashed when we first stepped into our studio and found it was the size of a room and a half with a fantastic resort to go with it! I could do without the cameras on the balconies though  I feel bad for the person watching those cameras and seeing me in my jammies, no makeup sipping my coffee in the morning.

This trip is BLT / VWL and although I'm curious about BLT and love love love VWL I have been simply homesick for Kidani and wishing I had booked there.

Enjoy your trip and your extended home Louie! We may have to stop by Kidani just to soak in the atmosphere ;)

We stayed the first time at Kidani in March and it is GREAT!! So great, we are returning in Sept! :goodvibes

I'm glad you are enjoying yourself!:cool1::thumbsup2

While I don't own at AKL. We stayed at Jambo last year and will be at Kidani this year, might need to add on!

We like Kidani way more than Jambo. But then, our favorite resort is OKW because we like the quite atmosphere and the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Kidani has a similar feel for us, with the bonus of having the animals at the resort. Jambo is way too busy and too big, but it's nice being within walking distance to have access to Boma.

Our past two stays have been at Kidani, but we miss OKW so that's where our next trip will be. Have fun!

My home resort is BLT, but we will be staying at Kidani the first week of December this year. Can't wait to see it! Never been to AKL before so I can't wait to be wowed.

Only problem is I'm waitlisted for Savannah View (got a standard room right now), so I'm praying for some pixie dust.

We love AKV. No other experience like it.:goodvibes
We love BCV for location and pool.

We just stayed in a standard studio the 1st week of June and actually had a partial savannah view ( we just didn't have giraffes ) My little guys thought they were in heaven. It is an amazing resort! Plus there are so many places to see the animals - don't worry if you don't get a true savannah view!

Haven't stayed at Jambo, but just stayed at Kidani in June and I was SO impressed with the resort. I thought it would be something we would do a couple times during our ownership with DVC, but my DH and I as well as the boys (4 and 20 months) fell in love. The service is amazing - the decor is amazing - the pool - the savannah - we were totally wowed!!! We even took the boys godparents (from South Africa - they have lived in the states about 10 years) and they were completely impressed. The souvenirs were authentic, they loved the decor, and really had an incredible stay. I was even worried about transportation and distance, but it never felt like we were that far away from everything. So glad I decided to book our big family christmas trip there this year!! Any room # suggestions for a standard view 2 bedroom dedicated??

I bought kidani in august and stayed there my first time on my honeymoon in may. I am soooooo glad its my home resort. I dont know if i need to get a savanah room again. some rooms on the sunset savanah never get animals near them.

Most of our animal watching was done at the firepit by the lobby.

Make sure to talk to the african cast members. Its awesome talking to them. Comapiring the different countries and hearing about africa.

Make sure to go to the different programs about africa.

Also you can go and eat appitizers and go to the bar at sanaa without dinner or lunch reservations. most people dont know this.

There is no counter service but in my opinion having the bread sampler at sanaa makes up for it. One bread service with the dips serves two people.

I also love the african sayinga on the wallls and all the artifacts.

I have stayed at Jambo a couple of times and was totally in love with it but I will say I cant WAIT to get a tour of Kidani as I really can feel it in my bones that THAT will be our next home! :goodvibes

Off to find more threads about Kidani! :lovestruc

We are here at Kidani currently. I would say it is a close second to our favorite, and home, BCV.
The CM's are lovely and we have enjoyed talking with several of the cultural reps.
LOVE the savannah view.
The lounge is nice, just enjoyed a few drinks and dessert there tonight.
Like all the different talks, tours and activities.

Our only complaints so far are that the pool feels too small for the resort, though we do love the play area.
And our room is at the end of one of the hallways. It is a very long walk to the lobby and pool areas. And a long walk to the villa at the end of a long day.
