At DLR now...parks evacuating...

This is what Disneyland says in a comment to a picture on Facebook:
"The issue has been resolved. Guest safety is our highest priority. We are working with local authorities to resume park access in an orderly manner. Thanks for your understanding."

I'm glad everything got sorted out.

What a lucky bunch to be in the park when it's virtually empty... great photo opportunities!!! I'm jealous. :)

The best of intentions? According to KTLA:

But as media outlets began to cover the story, the man who left the object there called police to let them know it wasn't harmful.

The object was a rolled up piece of paper containing a "spiritual message of goodwill" for park guests, according to police officials. It drew suspicion from park employees because it was placed in a tree, out of reach.

Disneyland: "Access to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks has resumed. Disneyland Resort park hours extended tonight: Disneyland park to close at 1am & Disney California Adventure park to close at 10pm. Additional "World of Color" added tonight at 10:15pm and additional "Fantasmic!" added tonight at 11pm. Thanks to all of our guests for their patience."

Nice with extended hours :D

Here's what happened from my cast member friends on the inside.
Security during their morning round found something near the bottom of one of the trees in the gate area outside Disneyland park. It was a tube with a message on it, the message while not speicifc was spiritual yet threatening in nature. FOr precaution they evacuated the park and then a boy came forward saying it was his, and him and his friends were palying a game. Guests were then let back into the park. Disney is staying open later to accomodate guests that were put out due to this disruption. Disneyland park will remain open until 1am and California Adventure will remain open until 10pm.
Charges against the boy maybe filed after the pending investigation is complete.

We're here too. Someone told my brother that security had found a white substance and they're not letting anyone through security.

This happened to us a month after 9/11..Hazmat suit guys in DCA...it ended up being sugar....

I was one of the few that were into Disneyland at 8am before the lockdown. Have to say, while the morning was a nightmare for all the guests waiting outside to get in, it was a dream come true for me and the maybe only 1500 other guests on the inside. It was crazy empty and business as usual. We rode everything as a walk on and stayed on many rides without getting off, even rides like Peter pan, Big Thunder and Splash. The characters were out for meet and greets with no one there. i will download my pics and post them. At 1045 on a Saturday in March and was so surreal to have it to ourselves! They even performed the Mardi Gras Jubilee to a crowd of 8! I asked a cast member and were kindly told that a suspicious package was found out front. No one gets in or out, so just have fun. About 1115 we noticed people just started flowing into New Orleans square. After our lunch at the Blue Bayou, the park was crazy busy, but we had already rode all our favorites in those first 3 hours.

Wow. So glad it was nothing dangerous. Sorry for the people stuck on the outside, but what fun for those on the inside!!
