What a great job the resort (at POP now, moving th Sheraton Safari later) is doing keeping us abreas. They leave messages on our phone with updates. Last night someone came to our door to let us know ME people would have no transport this morning, said to call airlines, since many were expected to be closed, and said people were welcome to get theri rooms another night (at a cost, of course). All parks are closed right now with MK and Epcot expected to open later, once this passes. It's very windy, but people are out and about. DTD, waterparks, as expected are all closed. Enjoyed Epcot last night, with a breeze, and the band played on. Hoping to see Beach Boys tonight.
Hope all our S.Florida people are doing all right.

I agree the staff is doing a wonderful job of letting us know what's going on. We're at BCV right now and have received notes (under the door) and 2 phone messages concerning the park closings, etc. We're relaxing, enjoying our stay and hopefully will go over and enjoy Epcot this evening. :earsgirl:

Well, it's a good thing the resorts are keeping you guys posted!!!!

I am sure that you guys will have a great time tonight once all this has passed.

Is tonight the only night for the Beach Boys? Hope you get to see them.. :flower:

Afer 8 nights at CSR,we moved to the Best Western in DD on Hotel Plaza Blvd. for the last 3 nights of our trip. This hotel has not informed us of any WDW reports. The lobby has posted notices about the storm and emergency plans, but no individual rooms have been notified. We are due to fly out of MCO at 8:20 p.m. so we had to pay a surcharge of $25 (+ fees of course) to keep our room until 3 as they are not granting complimentary late check out.
We had PDRs for breakfast at Boma - sadly the storm has changed our plans and we won't be dining at AK this trip. But, in spite of this last day, we have had a wonderful vacation! The Food and Wine Festival is awesome....and we rode Soarin' SEVEN times...:)

Doris,

Man, I'm going to start making sure I'm not planning on going to WDW when you are! You, WDW, and hurricanes are starting to be a common convergence! Hope you get back without much hassle!

Thank you for the update. It's nice to know the resort is keeping you posted so well.

Stay safe. I'm glad that the resort is keeping updated with regard to the storm.

Yes! It's impressive. The Boardwalk is closed, but they notified us that we could go to the convention center for breakfast (and lunch?). In other words, they have plan and they know how to use it.

The wind and rain is starting to die down; still too much to enjoy the parks.

The Beach Boys are at Epcot until at least Wednesday, I'm not sure after that. We were planning on doing Epcot on Wed. and I checked Disney's website to see which band was there on Wed.

Just wanted to say-stay safe everyone!

Weather.com says something about sun tomorrow! I'm crossing my fingers that you all will be able to enjoy WDW no later than tomorrow :goodvibes

I am at Port Orleans Riverside, in Paterre Place. Lots of rain and wind! But no damage that I can see - just leaves down. Just got a message on my phone that there is no normal mousekeeping today (just empty the trash and give fresh towels), which is fine by me since I guess I am stuck in my room for awhile! Still no word about when the parks reopen. Of course, the food court was a zoo! I had to bring my food back to my room since no seats available. Mickey and Goofy were greeting together in the lobby, then rotated with Minnie and Pluto. Huge line to see them, of course!

There are some movies playing on TV, and Winnie the Pooh is on right now. The Times Channel (channel 19) is depressing - seeing MGM and Animal Kingdom listed as closed!!

Well, I can DIS to keep me occupied! :teeth:

We are staying off-property this time. Sad we can't go this am, our first day planned, but hoping for later today or we will be getting up VERY early tomorrow!

Good memory LOL! We did, as I posted elsewhere, get to enjoy the Beach Boys both nights they were scheduled for, and I'm so glad this hurricane didn't prevent us from enjoying them (sure do wish though, that no one had to have been hit by these huricanes!). We should be back mid winter..so plan for the temps to go down to all time lows, once we pick our week LOL!
