At Disney now and freezing

It will warm up in a day or two. We arrive in a month and I am hoping for warm weather when we come!

One warm day December 14-23 is all I want, so the kids can go swimming at TL (or BB, whichever one is open now...).

Welcome to the wonderful weather of the deep south! Hot one day, cold the next. This makes this time in disney very hard to pack for. I'm in south Mississippi so I know how it goes. Our trip during Thanksgiving we'll be packed for a little of all of it. . . a couple of pairs of shorts, peddle pushers, jeans, sweatsuits and a jacket. So much for packing light!

we were there last week during the heat wave. blech. I remember particularly being a sweaty mess as we walked around world showcase on thursday. granted, now that I am back here in MA and it is in the 40s during the day, I almost wish I was back there. lol.

I say enjoy the coolness, but the 80s tomorrow sound pretty good to me

That's what happenend in Feb when we went. It was soo cold. We thought that since we were from Canada that we would be ok, but really cold is cold is cold no matter where you are from. We have pictures of ourselves in hats and mitts infront of the castle. Its true its hard to have a good time when your freezing.

When we went in January '91, the tempature was low to mid 20's for 2 or 3 nights. And Florida cold is colder then the North Pole.

Mickey'sMonkey- I remember that, and yeah, it was COLD!!!

This evening at EPCOT I was very comfortable in jeans and short sleeve shirt. It is supposed to be gradually warming through to the weekend, with highs in the mid 80's.

Good thing too, because there has been a severe shortage of snow shovels down here for several years!

We were there in Dec 04, I had a week in a timeshare. We were just using 3 days of it. It was so cold that the kids didn't want to get out of the strollers. Our feet were freezing. We had hats, scarfs, gloves, coats all the outerwear. WE were freezing and came home 2 days early because it was going to get colder. When it gets cold in flordia, it is cold!!

You must have been at MNSSHP the same night we were (it was GREAT!). We were freezing. Still, I had an excellent time and I FINALLY got my Maleficent and Evil Queen photos. YAY!

I am glad I missed the cold in FL. We were just there in the beginning of the month and it never dropped below 84 during the day----hit 90 a couple of days, but the nights were around 68-74. We were at MNSSHP on Oct 5 and had terrific temps ! I don't like disney when it's too cold because that is what I am trying to escape from here in PA. We like to swim and can't do that if it's in the 40's or 50's !
Luckily the 40's are only the morning/nighttime temps and it warms up during the day. Our "high" temps have been in the 47-49 range for days now (and wind chills making it feel even colder). Our lows are in the 30's. Waking up to frost over the grass and cars.
This cold front has really taken over a large portion of the country because I have a friend in Oklahoma and she's normally in the upper 70's to low 80's this time of year and she said she's been dropping to highs of only 60's and 40's at night.

I'm hoping for some cool/cold nights when I go in January. I've always wanted to see what it would be like to visit Disney while wearing jeans and a jacket! Call me silly. . .

I know this sounds REALLY silly, but until I read this thread, I NEVER thought about being too cold in Disney World!

Next year, I was hoping to go in December insted of September so I could see the Christmas decorations. But good grief! I DO NOT want to freeze!

Hi Glendamax,
We've gone during early Dec before and gotten very lucky. It was in the 77-83 range all 12 days we were there. The nights never got lower than 64 or so. But then you can get these really impressive cold fronts like we have now. These cold temps are pretty out-of-the-ordinary for FL in Oct.
I'm with you....I don't go to WDW to freeze either. I get enough of that (like 7 months worth !) here in my state.

Yeah we were there in Dec 04 too. I had on cuddle duds, turtleneck, polar fleece and coat. We had to go in the emporium and buy a blanket to survive the parade. Then we fled! What a waste of expensive MVMCP tickets.

The temps early this week are unusual for October, and we "normally" do not see morning temps in the 40s until January. Last year we did have a cold spell right around Christmas. What made Tuesday morning worse was the wind.

We can have a wide range of temps/weather in December, but it is a lovely time to visit!

Day time temps are usually very pleasant for being in the parks in December, once the sun goes down it does get chilly, but NOTHING like up north! Coming from PA I can compare!

Temps are on they way back up - 60s this morning, and low 80s during the day - to me PERFECT weather.

I hate the cold weather, but I do say the couple of days this week were a welcome change after the record breaking highs of the weekend!
