Hi I am at BWV now and today they are putting out new furniture around the pool...chairs and lounges... still white with blue stripe. Don't know if it was expected or posted before....:goodvibes

I hope you have a great trip!
Is there any buzz about the spilling of the beans about the Kingdom Tower thingy?

Hi:

Hope you're having a nice visit at BWV.

Can you share with us how things are regarding the condition of your room/villa, hallways, pool area, etc. as there have been a few negative reports lately.

Thanks,
maminnie

Hi Well we have been here since Tues, we are on 4th floor. The room was very clean and it good condition. The hall carpet is as has been worn. It has been VERY COLD here on Wed, Thurs low in morning in the low 30's high in 50's during the day so there were not very many people by the pool, just us in the hot tub!!!! and that is when they were putting out the new chairs and lounges. So the pool area was neat, clean and tidy. even Leaping Libations was not open the last few days.
But I guess I am not the best to look for problems, just glad to be here and get away.
As for Towers, no have not heard anything yet but see if I can find out anything. The news had a story but nothing different than the article in the item in the paper.
Having a good time so far if I learn anything more will post. Carol

popcorn:: PLease Please Please tell us more about your trip so we can feel like we are there too.:thumbsup2

And the other question-are you getting free internet or know what that will happen?

Negative reports? really? I am in the process of buy in there, major issues or are there some folks that just like to find negative things? I'm not mister picky or anything but I have read a post about cockroaches and now other stuff. Should I have bought somewhere else? It's making me a little nervous.

I wouldn't worry about it. For every negative post there are thousands of people who had a perfect stay and you hear nothing about it. Seriously, don't give it a second thought.

Ok it has warmed today finally. We just got back from Animal Kingdom, wasn't too busy there the wait on EE was only 20 min at lunch time. Maybe they are over at DHS for the ESPN thing? Look like it was going to be bad ecause there was a back up at the entrance but then after that not too bad, alot of the Fast pass stations were not even working. We go to parks early and then come back around 2 go to pool(going down when I finish this) and then back to parks. I think Epcot is open late tonight.
As for eating mostly been picking here and there. We ate at the Big River Grill right on Boardwalk and it was not bad for a quick meal. we kinda don't make plans, like to wing it so never know where we are going to eat. I don't think I am a good reviewier ...I pretty much like everything and try not too look for trouble...
Oh there is no free internet yet.....we get a cheap dial internet connection that has a local dial up number so that solves the internet problem...we are here for 16 days this time so that works for us....not fast but not 9.99 a day for access. I don't need to download anything...no work, retired.
With the colder weather the traffic on the Boardwalk has been nil too..I haven't even seen many of the performers only Carlos the swoard swallower last night. they will probably be back tonight.
Well off to the pool.. Thanks for all the good wishes.Carol :goodvibes

I'm not mister picky or anything but I have read a post about cockroaches and now other stuff.

in the south roaches are hard to avoid - especially the big ones like you get in Florida.

they don't live in the building - but walk or fly into the room when the door is open - or the french doors.

when you put down poision they just walk out. so they are really hard to kill.

Disney does an excellent job of kepting them off property - but these things are just about impossible to avoid in Florida.

Ala has similar problem but we generally get enough winter to kill them off. Florida does not.

I am not exactly independently wealthy, so to me putting up the kind of money it takes to get into DVC is no easy feat and has taken us years and years to reach this point. So when I hear a couple of negative things like cockroaches and cigarette burn holes that I have read on BWV after I already put up the deposit, it just made me a little nervous, thanks for straighting me out.

Dear HolidayRoad,

I just got back and had a BW view Studio. There was NOTHING wrong with it. It was CLEAN and NO Roaches. It was in the section right in front of the carnival games and even the games weren't loud once the door to the room was shut

This was our 4th stay at the BW in 2.5 years and all the rooms we had were clean. The only problem I had with any of the rooms was the door locks. We came home one night to find our 1st floor patio door was open. Nothing was missing, but I was nervous a Snake may have wandered in:rotfl2: Seriously---Even though it seems funny now.

The hall rugs have worn some since last year, but they weren't that bad.

The boardwalk is a great place. I'm sure some rooms are worse than others and sometimes you will get issues, but that will happen in all rooms sooner or later. Some of the rooms we did have were a little worn, but not enough to make an issue out of.

We also stayed at the AKV on the 4th floor and the room was clean, but there was an awful smell in the room as soon as you entered. It lasted the entire stay (1 night). My DH thought it was because they cleaned the rugs right before we got there and maybe the solution mixed with the glue or something but it was nasty. But the room was spotless and No roaches (imho, I would think there would be more issues with pesky insects at the AKL due to the Savanna)

We also went to VB for 2 nights and that room was clean too.

Good luck with your decision, I hope you will love the BWV as much as we do!! Nothing beats waking up and overlooking the lake with SSE right in front of you!!!! I only have to wait another 50 weeks :rolleyes1

Dear Tink-n-Belle,

Thank you so much for responding, I do feel better after reading your post along with some of the others. I guess I tend to skip past the good ones and freak about the negative ones, bad habit. I'm psyched to be joining the DVC and I promise Tink, to only think "happy thoughts" from now on.

Once you are in you will realize that you are simply taking care of your needs. Disney that is. You will always see negative comments and threads, but after a while you realize that DVC is good and negative comments are good. We all want to make things better or protect our investment so sometimes we take them to task with objective words. Like telling your own mom she has bad breath...

Ok so I approached a DVC sales person last night , won't say where and boy it was not a pleasant experience!!!!!!! Asked if he knew when they would start selling at Contempory.....well he started telling me it is illeagal to talk about that...it was a real estate matter and he could be fired....110 DVC people have been fired for talking about real estate matters.....so I said it has been in the news paper. Started rantting about not believing everything you read on the interenet and back again to the illegal real estate thing. He was not very nice about the whole thing at all, even said almost that it wasn't true and that why would you want to buy there anyway. He was younger sales person , maybe 30 ish . It was kinda a very strange experience!!!!!!!! So no info there and after that repromand I don't think I want to ask anyone else.
As for DVC and rooms We have owned since 2000 and come at least 2 X a year and have been staying 2 or 3 weeks at a time...we have not had any bad experiences with our room. they have been clean and fine never had to complain about anything....as for carpet it has been down for a while and gets alot of traffic, personally I like to think of it as sandy colored and sand is different shades...and everytime we are here they are cleaning it with a steam cleaner and then have those fans on drying it.
The weather has warmed up too and should be in the 70's today, pool area was back to being busy yesterday too and the parks are not too bad .
Oh I did notice a funny thing the patio areas on the pool/garden area have nice new chairs but on the standard side they still have that old green resin ones. :goodvibes

I can't tell you how many times we've stayed at BWV in particular but also SSR, Vero, OKW and one miracle stay at BCV for one night. I have never, ever had a bad room. They are always very clean and the only bug problem I've seen was at a GV at BWV. We got upgraded from a 2 BR, not sure how that happened, but it was fabulous. We did have a minor ant problem in the kitchen, but it was not a huge deal. I hope they took care of it when we left ;) We love our stays at WDW, we go 3 to 4 times per year and always hate to come home. I will say that BW needs a little upgrading, the tile in some bathrooms is beginning to show some wear and I'm not a fan of the sofas and am hoping they replace them or at least replace the fabric, I hate it! The beds are comfy, the location is fabulous and it is an all around great place to stay. I would add on more points in a heart beat, just need to win the lottery :lmao:
So positive thoughts are the way to go, I don't think you will be disappointed once you stay there. I always feel so privileged when I walk back from Epcot, come to the top of the bridge and there is my beautiful BW, just waiting to welcome me home pixiedust:

I was just wondering about the furniture on the balconies. I heard SSR is replacing the plactic furniture for metal. I just wondered if BWV is also doing this?
