At BLT now, very impressed

We are at BLT 11/8-11 and I'm happy to report that my husband and I are very impressed with the resort. All we have to compare is the Villas at the Grand in California, which is a beautiful resort too. My expectations were a bit low checking in as I'd heard reports that the resort was already showing wear and tear, but I'm happy to report our villa is in great condition. The CMs at the Contemporary check in went above and beyond making us feel welcome, the proximity to Magic Kingdom can't be beat, and our villa is beautiful.
My only complaint is the position of the pool. With two little ones, we like to head back in the afternoon, but the entire pool area was shady by the time we arrived at 2pm. Given that this is a chillier than normal week, was too cold for us to enjoy the pool. Would have been nice if they could have figured out a way to have more of the pool area in full sun. Also, there was some where on the dining table top, they should add glass tops to these like they did at VGC. The tops are beautiful, a shame that they are being damaged when a glass top seems like an easy fix.

We went to the DVC Presentation today and almost added on! We were hoping to see an Aulani villa model, but all they had were BLT. Give we live in California, the only place we'd be interested in adding on are California or H awaii.

Glad you are enjoying it. We own there and were there last week and also had a great villa. No problems in ours with wear either. The view could not be beat and we really hated to leave. Can't wait to go back. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

BLT is a great resort, I just wish that Disney would think things through a little better. Some of their decisions and choices at BLT make me think that they rushed the project.

Hawaii is a nice idea but owning there doesn't make sense for us. Airfare is too expensive and we enjoy the diversity at WDW.

Take your time to experience the other resorts before you buy again. You might find a resort that you really like at WDW where there is more to do.

So glad you are enjoying BLT!! I agree with Bill. We are also trying out as many of the resorts right now as i have addonitis really bad but would like to try as many of the others before we make that jump again. I am hoping to be able to try VGC one day. It looks beautiful!

We bought into BLT last year and this coming January will be out first stay there for our Disney Wedding/Honeymoon. We are so glad to hear that it was a great experience, definitely puts my mind at ease. Thanks for the review!

Sorry to hear about the pool being shady. When we were there in Sept, the pool was very sunny. Too sunny in fact - as all of the umbrellas were taken, and there wasn't much shade to be found. As a fair skinned person, I need my shade!
