At AKLV CL now!

I have fallen in love with AKL!.....We arrived on Sunday after 6 nights at BCV and 2 nights vero beach..(Iam covered in bites).....Concierge level is wonderful, we have a 1 bedroom pool view really close to the lounge.

I could definitley get used to this treatment..turn down, housekeeping every day, the lovely offerings in the lounge.

Boma was fantastic last night as always...You know I really think the theming at this hotel is the best of ALL disney hotels, and I say that as a BIG beach club fan!...(we own at SSR)

We have 4 more nights here and I wish it was more..

BTW...Crowds have been not as bad as we expected in the parks...It was really hot last week but the rain this morning has cooled things down today.

Soon we are going over to check out Kidani...then Down town disney and dinner at T Rex....Can't wait for that one!

Tomorrow rope drop at epcot...then the DVC tour party thingy at CR....really looking forward to that one...Ate at the WAve last week and BLT looks amazing!

be careful, staying a trip in concierge at AKl is what did us in on becoming DVC owners at AKV's !! I try to get Concierge most every time and am pretty successful. I will be there in September. It is my "happy place"!

OMG...we must have bumped into each other...I got here yesterday...and we will be her until Saturday...I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE TOO!!! We have a studio with a SV not so bad just happy to be here experiencing the royal treatment...and trying to think when I will be able to slip back in!!!

the food is Awesome !!! breakfast in the normal buffet, snacks are sweet and yummy, dinner is things like soups and chicken with a slight african flare but nothing too crazy. I will eat pretty much everything they serve. chicken skewers, butternut soup, carrot ginger soup and many others. Dessert is wonderful foods like chocolate covered strawberries, zebra domes, gumy bears, 3 differnt kinds of cookies and shot glasses for the cordials. There is always milk, and soda in the fridge and at night they add Tusker Beer. Water is always available and they also ahve juices and an awesome african smoothies which is some combination of pinapple, coconut and some other stuff. I get a glass of this to store in my fridge for night-time.

if there is somehting you want, don't be afraid to ask. I have seen them get beer from the back during the day and they have a special kind of straw (they don't put them out, you have to ask) if your kid (or you) needs them, they are made from paper.

Is there bottled water in the refrigerator? If so, can you take it into the parks? CL at The Grand Californian Hotel in DL has plastic bottled water and glass soda bottles in the refrigerator. The plastic bottles can be taken into the parks the glass bottles cannot.

Yes CL costs a few points more, and there are only 5 2 br lock-offs -- 3 Savanna View and 2 Pool View (not the best views, blocked by trees), so you need to call promptly at 11 months. Some have reported success at 7 months, but you can't count on it.

We really liked the Wave...The staff are very friendly and keen , we noticed that the restaurant wasn't too busy though...My Dh commented that it didn't have much of a disney feel or theme but he loved his steak!....

I'll bet you will just LOVE BLT...it really does look amazing!

I haven't noticed any bottled water in the fridge...there is cans of coke, fanta, sprite, beers. There are glass bottles of water kept out in coolers to pour into glasses.

I can't wait to stay, I called today and I was able to get a 1bd CL for 12/17.
I was shocked so you never know just call and see.

We'll be at AKV starting on 8/1, CL on 8/5.
We stayed CL on the "lodge" side last year, looking forward to our DVC stay this year!

Wooohoooo I'll be CL August 2-11. Can't wait love that level once your CL hard to go back to a regular room!! As for bottled water.. they don't put bottles in the fridge any longer. Sad but true. Glad you are enjoying your trip!!

not the best view but we so giraffes last night three and they were wonderful...I wouldnt say it ALL blocked by trees its just that its the top floor so the roofing is more in the way...I like it not to shabby I would say!!
