This is a dedicated value studio that Simba's Mom has posted pics of before. It does have two sinks and a closet, but has the small fridge minus a freezer section.

So far on the savanna, we have had CJ, the eland, 3 ostriches, a male nyala, 3 roan antelope, wildebeests, 3 woodstorks, an African crowned crane, 3 zebra and three giraffes. The zebra and giraffe just came for browse about dusk last night. The most constant visitors are the ostrich and CJ. Oh, and 2 bunnies, and a mallard mother and 3 not so small babies.

The weather is hot in the 90's and taking a toll on us because CT was barely into the upper 60's and low 70's before we left to come down here.

We've spent a little time in Epcot, but actually passed up our Soarin' FPs and Illuminations last night to watch the savanna.

Tonight we're eating at Boma. We have reservations at Jiko, and Sanaa before we leave Saturday am. We used the QSDP for one night, had to get new keys today at the Front Desk, but no problems with just the one day of DP. We'll use TiW for our other meals.

Questions?

CJ is ?

Enjoy your stay! I love those value studios with a savannah view!

Bobbi:thumbsup2

CJ is the eland that likes to hang out on the Sunset savanna closest to the concierge rooms. We learned his name on the Sunset Safari a year ago. if it's quiet, when he walks his knee tendons make noise -- normal for elands.

OK...thanks! We saw him too!

I LOVE CJ! He is one of my favorite animals on the savanna! Him....and Bubba, the ankole with his head stuck on tilt!

Oh gosh, I wish I were there! AKV stay with DGF's in September:thumbsup2 Value 2 bedroom and a value studio, it would be nice if at least 1 had a savannah view.

We haven't seen any of the ankole cattle here. Once we had a Savanna view at Kiidani, and the 5 cows spent the night just outside our room, a mom and daughter butting heads (literally) most of the night. I've only seen Bubba from the Wanyama Safari truck.

bobbiwoz: hope you get your savanna view -- I know we were tickled when we found out our studio was on the savanna.

CJ is back-- roan antelope, two mallard duck families, one with 7 little babies.

Off to MK -- we are especially pokey on this trip -- don't think we're even gonna come close to a rope drop!

Questions?

Do you have any pictures of the Value Studio? In your opinion would the "Value Studio" be "Cozy Quarters" :lmao: for 2 adults & a 13 yo?

Thanks in advance

I'll look for Simba's Mom's pics. I don't have the right cords with me now.

I think it would be ok for 2 adults and one 13 as long as you stagger showers and put up the bed during the day. We like the closet -- adds more storage compared to the value studio lock-offs. Remember we are in a dedicated, so get a closet instead of the passage door to the 1 br.

It's hot here! Just not used to summer heat yet. It's not humid like July, but they really need rain here.

Does the refrigerator look like this?

If so, there are two value studios without freezers. That's the one from 5012.
Last year, I had the one next to you, 5122. It had a freezer, but the freezer door was frozen shut, so it was like not having one. Fortunately the ice machine is right across the hall. I loved the view from 5122 and took about a kazillion pictures [kazillion is a very mathematical term for lots]. That's so great that you were able to get that area. Did you request it, or did you just hit the DVC view lottery? Frankly, I've had a savannah view studio and I think the view from where you are is better. If you've got time, I'd really appreciate knowing something about the activities of jewelry making and ceramics painting . I did them both and loved them last time, so I want to leave time in my schedule for them in September. Exactly when are they and what times? Thanks so much.

We have a value 2 bedroom booked for later this year and OH MAN I hope we get a savannah view!!!! I'll have to try to find those other pictures you mentioned.

I'll check the jewelry making and ceramics tomorrow. Yes our fridge looks like the one in your photo. There's about 8 inches empty space below the counter with coffee maker and toaster.

The view is great. We didn't make any requests, not even dedicated, although I am loving the closet

At some point, they stopped taking "dedicated" as a request for value studio because all dedicateds have savannah view.

Since the frig looks familiar, I must have had one of those rooms. Usually I'm not in a value studio for more than 1 or 2 nights so I don't really use the frig much. DH doesn't like AKV as much as I do, so if we're booking a stay, I may have us at AKV for the Friday and or Saturday night since the points are so reasonable. With my DGF trip coming up, AKV was my first choice, and for once, (because they are my points) I didn't ask for any other opinions.;)

That is a great room! We were in that room last Oct. enjoy your stay!

Tied the temp record today at 94. We laid low today -- I have a blister on one foot (even with my crocs -- that's never happened before and I'm not very mobile). May have to rent a scooter in the parks to get around.

We went to Ceramics. I made coasters, and DH painted a mug. For anyone who wants to know Ceramics is offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 to noon in Simba's Clubhouse, down by the pool.

The bead jewelry activity is Tuesday and Saturday -- $5 per inch of beads. It's also at Simba's Clubhouse from 10 to noon.

We read and dipped in the pool, and then just finished dinner at Jiko. I had the short ribs, DH the filet, then we shared an Amarula creme brulee. I wish that hadn't been so good up in Concierge -- I do like Amarula quite a bit now.

Thanks for the information on the times for ceramics and jewelry making. Let us know what you make if you go to the jewelry making. They're such fun activities. I eat my lunch almost every day on the lunch plate I painted, and I often wear the necklace I made.
Good luck with your foot. I think sometimes our bodies KNOW when it's most inconvenient to act up and interfere with walking. Last year, my knee swelled and acted up in WDW. No cause ever found and it hasn't hurt like that since. Have some butternut squash soup in Mara for me. Say Hi to Rose for me.
