Just what the title says :)

I went to DL earlier this year with my youngest sister (14) and this obviously wasn't an issue, but I am planning a return trip with my husband and I'm wondering what rides, if any, he can't ride because he is 6'5" (so 77 inches). This has been an issue for us on some rides at other theme parks. I mentioned Space Mountain, since I know you have to go under scaffolding, do you think there is a height limit? Can you think of any rides that might have one? I'd hate to wait in line for a ride and have them tell us he can't go on it. Thanks in advance!

My DH is 6' 6" tall and as far as I know, there are no height restriction maximums at DL or DCA.

As for rides that he just can't go on comfortably, Space Mountain and Rocket Rods are the only ones.

Everyone carries their height differently so what won't work for one person might be doable for another.

Have a great trip :goodvibes

My Dad is 6'4" and he's never had a problem on any of the rides. There are no height restrictions (maximum, like the pp said!) on any of the rides.

My husband is also 6'5'' and 280lbs...so he is a big guy and he has never had a problem with any rides and has gone on everything besides the maliboomer and Mullholand Madness. He has never tried to go on them. Your husband wont have a problem with any of the rides. Enjoy your trip.

At 6'6" 240 I have not found any rides that I have not been able to go onto except some of the kiddie rides in bugs life in DCA. There are a few that may be a little less comfortable but none that I have been told you are just too big.

Rocket Rods? :confused3 They've been gone for years!

My DH is 6'2". He doesn't think the Autopia cars are very comfortable, but other than that he rides everything.

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on a fast response from you! I'm glad to know it shouldn't be a problem, especially SM, my fave!

Sonnyjane, I just wanted to add a comment specifically for your DH. My DH is 6'5". There are no rides he CAN'T ride at DLR. However, he has vowed to never ride Matterhorn ever again because he THOUGHT he was going to lose his head coming around one of the turns a few visits ago.

I noticed part way through the ride he was hunched over. When we got off Matterhorn he looked right at me and said, "I swear I was not going to clear some of the overhangs on some of those turns. That was (self-censor) scary." And he has never ridden it again. Let your DH know he'll be okay, but he may not FEEL that way while riding. A sensation I can only imagine (being 5' 2.5") must be fearful.

I'm 6'4 and I have an extremely difficult time on Autopia. I will only even consider riding it again after I'm married and have children who desperately want to go on it. Even then I may try to ride with my legs on the hood.;)

Mulholland Madness is also a tight fit. I haven't even tried the stuff in Bug's Land, but otherwise, everything else is fine.

:upsidedow You're right! I meant the Astro Orbiter...I guess I have summer vacation Mommy Brain!

No problem. I can totally related to summer vacation Mommy Brain. I only have one more week until school starts. :yay:

Those are the exact two that my husband can't yet ride. He's 5'10/11", just over 280 (but he's carrying his weight right now in a very strange way that he didn't the last time he was this weight, probably due to a pituitary tumor that has his hormones out of whack), and he can't yet get the clip that goes from the bottom of the U shaped harness to the seat on M'boomer to clip, and he he coudln't get the bar to go down on MM. It was AWFUL. He has big sumo legs, and if he had spindly ones, or even longer ones (carries height in torso), he might have been able to cross at the ankles to get his thighs down more so the bar could go under his belly, but it wasn't possible. The CMs are always lovely. Fellow "guests", not so much.

Anyway, those are probably two rides to avoid, depending on how he carries his weight.

Tuck and Roll will be fun once you have kids that are tall enough to want to drive with daddy! :):upsidedow

Last time I went, I did see someone who was told he couldn't ride SM because his legs would not fit. I don't know how tall he was because I was already on the ride, sitting down, and it was hard to judge.

My DBF is 6'4" and about 175 lbs, tall and skinny. He rides every ride at DL/DCA. The only ones he doesn't feel comfortable on are Mulholland Madness & Autopia, so the girls ride MM and we all skip Autopia. He's never felt like he was going to his his head, and we ride Matterhorn a lot. :)

I am 6'4" and it can be a little awkward getting my legs under the bar on space mountain, not enough length on autopia, and i will routinely hit my knees on other attractions like indy and pirates.

The restraint on Maliboomer may be a tad uncomfy and my buddy who's 5'8" and 300+ can't even get it to latch.

HAVE FUN!

My husband is 6' 5.5" tall, and he can ride everything, but Mulholland Madness is VERY uncomfortable for him. He manages to fold himself in somehow so he can still ride it though - LOL!

However, I made him stop riding the rides with his hands in the air on Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain because I'm telling you, with him being so tall, and add to that his long arms/hands/fingers stretched high over his head, there's hardly an inch of space between his hands and the ride structures at certain points in the rides, and I'm afraid he'll lose a hand or finger or something.

Oh goodness! Yeah, DH isn't a hands-up guy, I'm more worried about a terrible decapitation! but it seems like a lot of the taller posters seem to be okay on Space. I am not a fan of Autopia so that won't be a problem to avoid :)

I am 5' tall and DH is 6' tall and neither one of us likes Mulholland Madness. I swear I get whiplash riding that thing and it is just soooo much worse for hubby, since he is a foot taller than me. The big problem is that our boys LOVE that ride. We will usually send our 3 youngest to ride it together if the line is short, or sometimes they will single rider the line if it is long and love to skip all the waiting.

I'm only 6' feet even, and I can't stand the dng teacups! no where for my legs to go, so I can't imagine anyone much taller.
