I'm 42 and I've never had a cavity. I have had my wisdom teeth pulled, and I have 2 crowns on my molars (!!??). I don't know what I did to crack my teeth, since I don't do anything weird or reckless. I highly recommend the sonic toothbrushes. My husband bought me a fancy one recently, and my teeth feel as clean as they do after a dentist's cleaning on a daily basis. The hygienist spent noticeably less time using the awful scraper on my teeth than in times past. Totally worth it!

I had my one and only cavity (very small) at age 32. I'm now 57 and haven't had another one. What my dentist did was suggest I have my teeth sealed since the cavity was from wear on top of a tooth so I did. I had to pay out of pocket, but it was worth it. A lot of people get cavities between their teeth and sealants don't do anything for them. I'm not very good at flossing regularly, but I inherited the good teeth gene. I've been using a sonic toothbrush for 15+years. What they do is good for both your gums and teeth. Both my sons (31 and 33) each have one small cavity so they got the good teeth too. We (DH & I) go to the dentist every 6 months and our boys continued to do so after they moved out.
