Is this worth going to if we only have one day to do the space center? I did a search on here and also their website, but didn't find much to help my decision.

Ok, let me rephrase this. Anyone who's gone, did you like it or was it just OK?

Hello! We did this and enjoyed it very much. The trick is, do it first, before you get to the main visitors center.(which is a few miles down the road) Most people do it afterwards, and it's more crowded then. You can buy your tickets there for the visitors center, if you don't already have them. My boys were 15 and 11 when we went and they really enjoyed the hands-on activities there. Since there weren't many people there, they got to do everything several times. It won't take up too much of your day, so I'd say do it.

My DS and I enjoyed it more than the space center itself. It is much more interactive.

I agree with the other poster who suggested doing it before the visitors complex. You'll find more astronaut related artifacts here and the space shuttle is better represented in the exhibits. The Science on a Sphere is a nice show if you've never seen one before. There are also activities for the kids that dont exist anywhere else.

If you've only got one day, plan on a couple hours at the HOF then lunch at the Visitor's complex followed by a bus tour and then whatever time you have left for the Shuttle Launch Experience and exhibits at the visitor's complex.
