Garrett E. Reisman (Ph.D.)
NASA Astronaut
PERSONAL DATA:Born February 10, 1968 in New Jersey. Recreational interests include flying, skiing and snowboarding, rock climbing, mountaineering, canyoneering, and SCUBA diving. Dr. Reisman is an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. His parents are Sheila Reisman of Boynton Beach, Florida and the late Robert Reisman. His sister, Lainie Reisman, is an international youth violence prevention specialist and currently resides in Washington D.C.

Reisman is a graduate of my school plus my high school.

Today, from approximately 1:04-1:12 pm EST, Mr. Reisman's ship, the STS-124 Space Shuttle, was in a satelite window range, and so the staff and students of my middle school got to communicate with Mr. Reisman.

My school is the 6th official school to communicate with an astronaut via satelite radio in the United States.

This was a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime oppertunity.
