I checked the Disney site and it looks like there is no height requirement for Astro Orbitor.

What's the youngest (shortest) child you have taken on Astro Orbitor?

The PassPorter recommends Ages 5 and up. I took one of my nephews last year he was 5 he liked it the first time he rode, second time he didn't? He is big for his age apx 47in last year, his older brouther also rode he was apx 45in tall.

I took my daughter last year and she was three by a week. She loved it and rode it about five times. Meanwhile, our six year old son would cry at the mention of riding it so you never know. I guess it really depends on the child. Good luck!:earsboy:

My daughter rode it at 3 1/2, and she's very small for her age. She was around 36 inches at the time. Other than it being higher up, I've never seen a big difference in this ride than Dumbo or Aladdin.

I just remembered, we had my almost 2 yr old with us last year when we went. The CM said he was fine to ride, but he didn't want to get on it. So, I don't believe there is a height requirement, just depends on if your child would like it or not.

I've taken my DD4.5 on it, and she was right at 40". I don't believe there's a height restriction.

I'd make sure any small child rides with an adult.

my ds takes me on it every time we go, lol!

he was 3 when he first discovered it and 4 on the last trip, so 38-41", give or take. i don't think that there is a height requirement, but be warned that this ride is not as innocent as it looks! not only does it fly high, but at high speeds. about does me in every trip and 14 yo dd laughed until we made her do it!

We went on with a 10 month old, a 2 year old, and an almost 4 year old -- all three kids are small for their ages (DH is 5' 4" and I'm almost 5' 2"). I believe my DH had the two older children in one "ship" and I had the 10 month old with me. They were fine with adults. I wouldn't send them on alone.

I can be a fairly nervous person, when it comes to kids and safety - and I think this was fine.

HTH!

I just took my 3yr old daughter, who adored it! But, she's a daring soul. My 5yr and 7yr old boys declined. Once they saw our video, they wanted to go. Next trip.

Does this ride make anyone sick. I always like it but DS get motion sick and this just seems to be one that might bother him. He is fine on Dumbo and those speed rides. Anyone with experence with this.

seashoreCM, how do you know the rotational speed of AO is almost twice that of Dumbo? I'm not doubting you, but folks who knows this kind of information have a special place in my heart. :)

Thanks,

This ride surprised me by making me sick. I'm usually careful since I tend to get motion sickness easily, but it didn't look bad. About half way through the ride, I started feeling bad and just wanted to get down. I wasn't on dramamine or anything like I normally do when it is a potential motion sickness ride. I've never been on it again since the one time was enough.

Measured it with a stopwatch this past week. If my figures came out right then:

Dumbo, Triceratops Spin, Aladdin Carpets about 13 seconds per revolution.

Astro Orbiter about 6 seconds per revolution.

Even I was starting to get dizzy riding Astro Orbiter. Although I did not try all combinations I suppose that because your body is tilted differently you may get dizzier sooner depending on how high the rocket is adjusted.
