Astro Orbiter- what's so bad about it?

I ride HUGE coasters without fear ... and I was scared (you know what!!!) on this ride. My DH and I each rode our own jet. He is tall (6'5") and we could not fit in the same jet. Soooo I was on my own. Start, spin ... push the handle to go up and I remember saying loudly "no, no, no, no -- go down!". It might have been the height and the feeling of falling out - but I promised myself ... I WILL NEVER RIDE AGAIN!!!

PS: My DH said this was the only ride he ever felt was like flying a real (small) plane. NOT FOR ME!!!

The height and the spinning make me feel really sick. I won't do it again. I wait while dh and dd go on it.

I basically don't care for any ride that simply goes round and round. (Except, of course, the Merry-Go-Round.)

But I'm always happy to see a ride at Disney that I don't want to ride, because it helps keep the lines shorter at the attractions I do want to do.

I try to do Astro Orbiter at least once per visit, it does depend on how long the line is.

I have survived AO with no problems but won't do the "advanced" (original) Mission Space any more.

If you push the lever and make the rocket ride high, you will have less of a feeling of wanting to fall out.

If you turn and face the hub of AO you will experience the forces that MS puts on you although I am not sure which ride has more centrifugal force I think the advanced MS does.

I felt like the jet we were in was struggling with our weight, and that we'd fall any minute. DH and I aren't petite, but not huge either, combined weight of 300-325 pounds. Yet, the jet tilted and wobbled, the arm felt bent, we felt like we were about to fall out. Not crazy about the height, but it was the insecure feeling that got to me.

It's not bad. It's evil . I felt like I was going to be flung out the thing, and seeing as how I'm not really all that fond of heights, it was a rather unpleasant experience. It's one of those ride where I can say "I did it, but I'm never doing it again."

My feelings exactly. I thought I was going to get a free flight to the frontierland. I have never felt so much like I was going to be flung out of a ride. And I am not a ride wimp, I love coasters especially the loops and upside down parts. I wanted to choke my DH for making me ride it.

My problem with this ride is not the height or the spinning, I just feel like the "jets" are really cramped. I rode it with my son and my leg was killing me by the time it was finished. It also took a very long time to load for such a short line. I did enjoy the view, though.

I'm afraid of heights, but I wasn't scared when I was on it, it was the tilting and circular motion that bothered me. I was dizzy when I got off it, thought I was fine a half-hour later, went on BTMR and then was very nauseous after that. I don't think I'll be riding again.

How many people do the CM's usually fit in a rocket? 1? 2? 3?

A combined weight of 300-325 seems small to me. (Like 130 and 170 = 300) DBF and I together weigh about 400 lbs. so if you felt like you were falling out, we'd be flung over to the Polynesian Luau! Do most adults ride singly? Or do adults not usually ride?

(Sorry if my questions are silly, I've never been up there to see. )

HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........my god I felt like a marble in a sling-shot. I held on so tight that I could not enjoy the ride or take in then scenery...they gotaa slow that bad-boy down a notch

I am 300 pounds and ride alone while my 7 year old rides in another car....he loves it....I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously thought I was either going to fly out of the rocket, or crash into those planet decorations they have up there. The way it tilts you is just awful

How fast does it go? It can't go insanely fast can it? I don't have a problem with heights (I don't think), but I cannot ride the tea cups because of the crazy spinning. I think I'll be okay on AO cause I can ride Dumo and the Flying Carpets just fine, I'm only worried about the speed making the circular motion seem worse.

I love roller coasters that turn you upside down and Dumbo....but OMG, astro scares the heck out of me! When it is spinning, it tilts and pushes you sideways and makes you feel that you are going to go flying out and over the thing.
