Has anyone played the online version? My daughter has played a few times. The whole premise is that you are competing with/against people who are riding/playing at Disneyland.

I guess I was expecting some kind of webcam based game, where the online player sees what the attraction rider sees. There was some talk of a scoring system that increases when the at-home player and the Disneyland player hit the same target within seconds of each other.

However, the at-home game doesn't really seem to be connected to Disneyland other than some scores it throws on the screen at the end. You travel through a video game, and see nothing of the attraction (except still images that appear in the lower left hand corner of the screen).

Is this still in beta, or is will it become more like originally described?

The online version of the game is interactive with the on-ride attraction.

When players online shoot the robots with the Zs on them, it lights up targets on the ride. If those targets are hit on the actual attraction, the rider gets more points and "releases" a little green man on the online game. If the online player grabs the little green man, he or she is awarded extra points.

The game is in sync with a ride vehicle at Disneyland. And though you aren't following that vehicle with an on-board camera, you are being shown what portion of the ride is occuring down at the bottom of the screen. Your final score is your online score plus whatever score that particular vehicle scored to determine your overall team rank for the day.

I think this is basically what was originally described and I think this will be the game going forward.

I enjoyed playing it for a little while but the game is really repetitive. After capturing Zurg three or four times now, I haven't bothered playing it again. When I rode the ride after the game started, I was surprised how few targets lit up to hit. Cool idea but not the greatest execution.

Thanks Matt. It does seem to make more sense now. When I experienced Astro Blasters in the park, the online game was not yet up and running. I guess it would be a bit tough to synch up a web cam (and gun) with a mouse and a DSL connection. Would be very cool if they did, though. Imagine - a third gun onboard. The home user cannot control the spin, but can control the gun and aim at targets, real time.

I suspect that the added cost won't pay off in any way though. And, since there is never a wait to join in the attraction from home, I suspect there just aren't many people playing the online game.

I haven't been able the get the game to work at all on any of my computers. All I get is the downloading screen and it hangs.

My computer stalls at updating, then when it gets in, I go to log in and it says "checksum failed, your files may be out of date, please update and try again" everytime! I registered my son to see if a new online login would work, and his does not work either. How is everybody getting on?! Please, Please help.

I've been having the same issue. I was able to play if for a little while Friday morning, but later on Friday I couldn't get back in. Didn't try at all yesterday since I was at DL. And since the park isn't open yet, I haven't tried yet today--not much point in playing the simulated games.

I haven't been able to get in either for the last couple of days. I even tried redownloading the software, but it didn't help.

It's so funny that it worked fine Fri morning then stopped working by Fri afternoon. I know people have been playing it--plenty of lit up targets in the ride on Sat.
