Hmmmm....very interesting. That is good to know. when I've called for previous years I was told that it was the 5 nights firm! If I want to do a shorter stay I'll just book online next time

You don't have to only book online. You had a misinformed CM. It's been 3 nights for several years.

It amazes me that so many CRO CMs give out wrong information . If that happens next time, call back and get someone else .

A split stay would like this:

12/14 - ROOM ONLY reservation
12/15-12/23 - FD reservation with 8 day tickets.

On 12/14 you can go to guest services and get your tickets from your FD reservation and can start using them. You will NOT have a dining plan that day.

On 12/15 you will start having a dining plan. Note even if staying at the same resort and same type of room, you may need to move rooms. You will need to check out and check in.

So...if total stay was 5 nights, can I buy 6 day tickets with the last 3 nights of my 5 night stay? Would break it up 2 nights w/no discount & 3 nights for FD.

Yes, you can pick up the park tickets up to 3 days early. Check out the ticket sticky for more information and directions on how to pick them up for the beginning of your trip.

Thanks for the info. We are booked 10/24-28 in Anticipation of FD But if we switch to 10/15-20 we can add an extra night. (DD has a week off from school) Columbus week so don't expect discounts except possibly FD on the 18th. Would love an extra day. Just don't know if its worth it to have to split ressies

So I decided to call & change our ressies to 10/16-21 with a split stay at POP & then POFQ for 3 nights starting on the 18 which should begin FD if it is opened back to the public. I know the CM's don't always know what's going on but he said it was a detriment to split resorts cause I'd have to move & that the FD pin wouldn't be offered to the public cause its a PIN. I didn't even want to push the issue so I just said "thanks" & hung up. Don't know whether I should call back or wait until FD is actually offered.

Every January/ Early Feb trip that we've had Free dining we have also had to stay a minimum of 5 nights.

Was that a free dining AND room discount pin on that one? I know my sister got an amazing deal this past January that I've never heard anyone mention had both discounts together.

You can not stack discounts/ promos.

This past January was a Play/Stay/dine promo.
Essentially the deal was laid out where your package included discounted park tickets and adults paid kids prices for the dining plan.

For us it still worked to be more then we usually pay for a package with free dining. But I guess and savings is better then nothing
