Our WDW trip is just around the corner, and I have a couple of things I'm unsure about as far as dining goes. We will be a party of 8, with 1 family of 4 on the table service dining plan, and 2 families of 2 each with no dining plan.

1. We'll have an 18% gratuity added to any table service meals because our party is 6 or more, correct?

2. And assuming the dining plan folks don't order anything extra, they will be able to charge their tips to either a card or back to their room with their magicband? IOW they don't need to bring cash for tips?

3. We have a reservation for CRT and when I made the reservation, it didn't ask if anyone was on the dining plan, so I paid in advance for all 8. I think I read here that CRT will credit me for the 4 on the dining plan at the time of our meal. Did I understand this correctly?

4. Tips are included at CRT still?

This is just a comment, in hopes it may help someone. My DIL wanted to get the chocolate slipper dessert for my granddaughter at CRT and emailed an address for confirmation that she was given by WDW, and they never emailed her. She emailed again, no reply. I called Disney Dining and was told they didn't do it anymore. I also was doing my own sleuthing and was fairly certain that was bad info. Sure enough, the email I found, WDW.Magic.Kingdom.Specialty.Desserts@Disney.com is a good address and she received a response straight away. wdw.crt.special.events@disney.com is the first address she was using that did not get any response.

Thanks, everyone!

1. You are correct about gratuity.

2. No one is forced to use cash (unless a machine is down or something like that).

3. They will sort out everyone's payment/dining credits. No need to worry there.

4. Tip is included at CRT.

We were at Disney a few years ago with two other families and we all had the dining plan in our 3 separate rooms. At every meal the server would ask which person was associated with which plan/room so it all got charged correctly. Never had any issues with how it was charged.

Some of the most expensive adult beverages were not included in our dining plan. We always made sure to ask the server about what was included/excluded before ordering. The servers were always helpful in clarifying that and likely is a commonly asked question.
