First off, no one in my room is requires a HA room. Secondly, we did not ask for one

However, we just got assigned one. I actually feel badly because we are so far out to cruise and don't need it. My thought is what if someone else needs it? I called and reiterated we do not need a HA room nd the person on the phone went and spoke with someone and verified that room had been released to inventory. I am shocked but then I do not understand all the ins and outs of cruise line booking strategies. Does this happen often?

Does anyone know if Disney will move us if it someone else needs it?

If you have a guarantee booking, DCL can move you, even if you've been assigned a room. It's not likely, but does happen.

Once DCL feels the inventory is pretty much stable, they'll release those HA rooms to general assignments. Is it "often" this happens, not sure, but it happens.

Don't feel bad.

9 months out??? Thats a bit much. I am in a Electric wheelchair.

I Look it as Wheelchair parking. If you need it, you need it. First Come, first served. But..... When I see someone parked in a Handicap spot and I see them skip to the door, I get mad.

The ships don't have many accessible rooms for people in wheelchairs.

We were assigned an "HA" room last year. It wasn't actually a "legal" HA. It only had some of the HA features. It was 9670.

We were about 60 days out. We didn't ask for, nor did we need that room. I'm sure that if they ended up needing it for someone else, they would have bumped us. Totally understandable.

Nine months out is SOOOO far in advance though. Wow!

I wouldn't worry about it OP. I'm sure Disney would do the right thing. :-)

Could it be an old HA that had been reassigned? We had a reassagned 5E the last time... Biggest room and biggest verandah I've ever seen.
