Assessing the Orlando Flex Ticket

We'll be in Orlando in the first half of July. It has been several years since our last visit and to say the least, I can't believe how much admission prices have increased.

During our last visit to US/IoA, we purchased the Orlando Flex Tickets since the parks included in the Flex Ticket pretty well matched what we wanted to visit on that trip. Now that we have three teenagers, the call for roller coaster(s) and thrill rides outweighs the call of the mouse. Our plans for this trip include US/IoA, Busch Gardens, Sea World, a water park, and the ocean. We'll have 11 days for this trip.

Given the above, I can't see any reason NOT to purchase the flex tickets again. However, I'm not up to date on the current ticketing options in Orlando. My research to date suggests purchasing five flex tickets seems to be the best course of action here.

Would someone please tell me if there is a better option?

Thanks!

The Flex Ticket is still going to be your best bet considering what you want to do. Here's a website I found that shows the six park ticket for $283.95 for adults and includes Universal, IOA, Sea World, Aquatica, Wet N Wild and Busch Gardens. You can do a Google search to see if there are better prices out there.

I'm also considering these, family of going Feb. 2011 for 15 days. But we're probably not going to bother with Busch, just the 5-park version.

But I'll probably get 4 of the flexpasses, and maybe 1 annual pass from Universal, not sure about SW/AQ. The strategy here is the uni annual pass gives some discounts, including free parking ($14/day). We're staying on a timeshare down I-drive so we'll be paying parking without it.

I've been keeping an eye out for any Flexticket specials seeing how we're going to be purchasing them for our September trip. From what I've seen, if you subscribe to the Mousesavers newsleter . . .

http://www.mousesavers.com/newsletter.html

. . . that's sent out monthly, (usually around the 15th,) you'll find a special link that will take you to Undercovertourist.com. With this, the price is $242.95 for a Flexticket and $279.95 for a Flexticket Plus, tax and shipping included. (Normally, they're $247.95 and $284.95.)

Also, hope you don't mind me hijacking, but does anybody know if you can upgrade a Flexticket to a Flexticket Plus after it's been activated? My youngest son and I are still on the fence about going to Busch Gardens.

Have fun on your trip! :)
