When I originally reserved this hotel, I didn't realize they were standard "double" beds for just two occupants, so I called back to see if I could reserve a single "king" bed instead. The CM on the phone told me that no king beds are available at the AS or budget resorts unless it is for handicapped residents. Is this anyone else's experience or were you able to reserve a king room? I am not asking much I don't think... and since it's our anniversary, I'd like to be able to share the same bed...

I can't guarrantee I won't kick DBF out of the bed - I tend to fidgit lots - especially in tight (double bed) quarters! :rotfl:

you can ask for a king bed - but be aware that you may not have a tub.

some handicapped rooms only have a walk in shower (for wheelchairs).

if the first CM won't or can't help you - then just hang up and call again.

When I checked into my preferred room at AS Sports this past May I was not happy with the location. I was on the bottom floor on the far side facing the tennis building and a courtyard, just two doorways down from the elevators. When I opened my door and saw a king size bed I was even more unhappy (I love my bubble baths and was not going to handle just a shower very well). I immediately ran to the bathroom and was very pleasantly surprised with a large bathroom, including a nice tub with alot of rails around it and a hand held shower head. I had not requested a king size bed, but was very pleased. That's the best room I've ever received at Disney and it was pure pixie dust. It was close to the main building, just around the corner from the elevater and Surf's Up pool, very quiet, and had a large bathroom (with a tub), as well as a king size bed. I loved it. So, yes the All Stars do have king size beds.

THe standard rooms at the All Stars have 2 Double beds and sleep 4 persons.

All Star Music has King beds but as Spiceycat said a lot of the King are Hanicapped accessible. Also at the values they are only a request.
At a mod you can reserve them for an extra $15 a night.

Here is the Floor plan for All Star Movies which is simular to the other All Stars:

As others have said, the king beds are not guaranteed. Most (if not all) are in HC rooms either with a tub or rollin shower. These rooms are reserved for the guest who need them. If they are available you can request one. Now with the non-smoking issue change the availability just increased. Many times we have asked for one, only to find it in a smoking room. Let me warn you that these beds are very uncomfortable and hard. We do find availability the best at Pop, maybe they have more, not sure why. Call and do a request on your reservation, plus when you check in ask if they gave you one. If you are flexible with the tub vs the rollin shower, obviously your chances will be greater. When we stay for a longer time I want a tub, but if we are there a couple of days, the rollin shower is OK.
