Can anyone who has stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music tell me what they thought of it? We would have 4 adults and 2 kids (6 & 2). Had been looking at Bay Lake Tower but have pretty decided against that and are now thinking about a family suite.

We stayed there Feb. 2009. We had 3 adults and one child, plus my b-i-l & s-i-l came for a night since they live close. It was great. Very spacious and the extra bathroom made it so easy!:yay:

We have stayed in the Family Suites twice. We loved it, but it was just 2 adults and 2 kids. We loved the 2 bathrooms, having a bedroom, and the kitchenette (fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave). For what you get, the price is great. The second time, we were overlooking the pool, and I would avoid that. It can get loud.

I would figure out the sleeping arrangements first - which adults will sleep in the living room with the kid or kids (the 2 yo can sleep in a pack n play which could be put in the living room, bedroom or even behind the curtain in the dressing area!).

Have you check out the thread about the Family Suites?

Well my first thought was wow, going from BLT to ASMu...quite a jump in catagories. Have you thought maybe a cabin? They sleep 6 and very quiet surroundings with all the comforts of home?

We think the family suites are one of Disney's best kept secrets. Our family of 5 stayed for 7 nights last August. Can't beat the 2 bathrooms and the private bedroom for mom and dad. Eating breakfast in the room and having cold drinks saved us some $ and the kids thought the beds were very comfortable. We had a 3rd floor room on the corner facing away from the pool and never heard any noise all week.

We just got back from staying at the Suites on 12/21. We had our family of 5 which include me, my DH, DS(12)-who is 6ft tall, DS(11), DD(6) and my mother-in-law.
The hubby and I had the bed room and the bed was actually one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have stayed in. Maybe I was just so tired it seemed extra comfortable.
My boys stayed on the sleeper sofa and didn't think it was to bad. MIL slept on the chair that converts and also thought it was fine. DD slept on the converted ottoman and it was perfect for her. I did lay on this one and I don't think an adult would sleep comfortably. The mattress is pretty thin.
We loved the two bathrooms and the little kitchen area. As a matter of fact all those shelves came in very handy and were used as my DD's dresser. It worked very well.

We just came back from a one-bedroom villa at BCV. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. I can't imagine that the foldouts at ASMFamily Suites would be comfortable.

I've always thought the family suites would be a good choice. But, after our nights on the sofa bed at BCV, I would definitely want a bed (not a foldout of some kind). I think kids can manage on a foldout, but they are hard for adults, IMO.

The sofabeds at the Family Suite are a totally different style from BWV. The family suite sofabeds are just fine and the only issue I had is the giant hinge on the side that can pinch you as you're getting out of bed. Otherwise, I slept on it for almost two weeks and was totally comfortable.

Our family really likes a Family Suite, but lately we have been going to a 1BR villa, because the price difference is small when you can grab a 40% or 45% discount on a villa vs. 20% or 25% on a family suite.

The cabins are nice, but only one bathroom and are more secluded. If you want peace and quiet and a woodsy feel, then the cabins are nice. For fun and constant activities, the Family Suite is better.

We also agree that it is one of Disney's best kept secrets! The space you get and the two bathrooms and the kitchenette totally worth it!! We are a family of 6 so this is perfect for us!! The older two kids really like having "thier" own beds! and two tvs!! heck yah!! :) and its a nice resort we love all stars music!

Most of the Disney resorts (excluding DVC) charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
The Family Suites do not charge extra for extra adults.
1-6 adults can stay in the Family Suites for the same et price.
The Family Suites have discounts available also so if you keep your eyes open you just may snag a great deal.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Here is the layout of the Family Suites:

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)

The pullout chair and large ottoman each pull out into standard size twin beds.
(4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
