Help! I can't decide. It's 2 adults, 2 teenagers (13 & 17) and a 1yr old. I like the idea of two rooms but at the same time I like the idea of being closer to MK and not having to take buses all the time. We've decided not to rent a car. I'm also hoping for free dining. How is the bus service in September especially at the AllStars? Some places I read that they don't share and other places I read that they do.

I would go with WL. My family stayed at WL Easter 07, and loved it. (4 in my family including 2 teenage boys 14 & 16 ) Also, we have stayed at the value resorts when the boys were younger. The rooms are larger at WL(not as large as other deluxe resorts), transportation was great, loved the food and pool. Since my boys are the size of men weprefer the deluxe. The BWI is also a great choice!

I'm trying to decide between these two too. I have tentative ressies for WL due to the atmosphere. DH is a hunter so I thought WL might suit him better. Having a micro and 2 rooms/bathrooms at the AS would be great though too and it's cheaper.

Can you get the AAA discount on ASMu Family Suites? I think I read somewhere that there were no discounts of any kind of the Family Suites.

Thanks!

If the suites are available you can get a AAA discount. Also I have seen the suites available with other offers from Disney as well.

Speaking of availability, I can never find the Family Suites listed as available on the Disney website. I've plugged MANY combinations of dates, days of week and length of stay in and can never get any availability to come up. However, I have called CRO and found availability for an identical stay that is unavailable on the website.

I went through this same dilemma when I was booking our trip. I opted for the family suite because I really liked the idea of having two rooms. The kids (DD7 and DS4) can sleep in one room and DH and I can watch TV in the other room without disturbing them. This way we don't all have to go to bed at the same time. Plus, my thinking was that it was cheaper for essentially, two rooms. We are going in June so I hope I made the right choice!

When you go into the Disney site and the resort listing comes up, you need to check the box for "suites". It will then list only resorts w/suite availability, including the ones at the ASMu. :)

My travel agent told me that he hadn't seen discounts either for the family suites. Then again, he didn't know about the codes that everybody has been talking about on this site. so now I'm really confused.

Let me know how you find the Family Suites. buses? full? room size etc,. We are going to be in Tampa for a few days visiting friends and then we're going to Disney so we're only renting a vehicle in Tampa.

I changed my ressies to the family suite and my TA told me they rarely honor discounts for them too. She did say that she still tries all the discounts that come through just in case and she was successful in getting one of her other clients free parkhoppers the other day.

I may end up changing mine again though. I found out the cheerleading convention is the week I was planning on going. I really don't think I want to deal with that. I'm not sure yet if I'll just change the resort or move my ressies to the following week. I need to talk to DH about it first.

I have a AAA discount on a Family Suite for August. I was at WDW in Jan and tried to book with a bounce back but the Family Suite didn't have availability with that discount.

I would probably go with the family suite. The WL will be an easy boat ride to MK but you'll have to bus to all other parks and the WL sometimes shares with GF, Poly and CR.

We also find the the food courts at the values work well for my family.

Good luck with your decision!

In the years past they would not offer the free dining promotion with the Family Suites. I think most people just booked two adjoining rooms. I would go with the Lodge and get better transportation with a more relaxing resort. JMHO.

I keep going back and forth still. I started to pick the Family Suites then saw some beautiful pictures of WL. Has anyone been to ASMU Suites, ASMU, WL in September? Maybe if you can tell me how the bus system and food court was at that time it would help.

Yes, you can get a AAA discount on the family suites, I have one for our December trip. There are also AP, Fl res, and General discounts avail for them, if there are any rooms avail for the time that you are going. But if you are trying to get free dining, you can't get both free dining and a discount.

We stayed at the family suites this past June and were very happy there. We had 2 adults and 3 children 8, 5 and 5. Plenty of room and some privacy for Mom and Dad. The rooms were clean and bus transportation was great as well.
