ASMO's room requests

We are looking to book ASMO's for september (they still have free dining available) My DD love's Dalmations so i would like to request this.
My question is are all rooms in Dalmations, Toy Story and Fantasia preferred rooms? I am looking to book a standard room so don't want them to think i'm requesting something i haven't paid for.
We stayed at Pop last year and i read that 60's was preferred but then i found a map that showed a few rooms were actually standard so i requested this and got a lovely view of the lake but only a 30 second walk to hippy dippy pool which was great.
I love Pop and they have rooms available too, should i stick with what i know i like or try something different?

We stayed in the Dalmations last year. And paid the extra few dollars for the preferred room. And make sure you request it when you check in. I believe that the All Stars go by building (not rooms) so the preferred buildings are Dalmations, Fantasia, and Toy Story and the standard are the Love Bug and Mighty Ducks. There is a thread on here that goes over all the ASMo info. and will help you out with your request.

If it were only an extra few dollars it wouldn't be a problem, but as we need 2 rooms for 14 nights it's nearly $400, which could go towards spending money.
I don't think i would be happy if we ended up in Mighty Ducks, so maybe will have to look at other resorts. Will have to decide quickly before free dining ends.

That is a huge amount. I know that alot of people stay in the Mighty Ducks and go the Music for their food court and buses.

We stayed in Might Ducks about two weeks ago and loved it. I could see ASMu from our room and used the food court at both resorts as well as bus stops (which ever one had the best line, that's the one we used ). We loved it there and were close enough to everything that we could sight see around the resort with no problem. We stayed in Music in December and loved it too. It is perfect for DD16 and DS17 since they both love music!

We were put on the backside of a Fantasia building last time and there is no way I would have paid a higher price for that location (We didn't request a preferred room). Some of the Toy Story rooms are pretty far, in my opinion, from the food court and pool too. Mighty Ducks has a pool right in front of it, and the walk to the big pool isn't that bad. I'm one who loves convenience and I'd be just fine in Mighty Ducks. It's close to a laundry room too.

$400 difference is a lot. I would not pay preferred or like you said go back to pop. OR you can cross you fingers and hope at check in you get upgraded? We stayed at toy story buildings and liked it there.
