We are going on a seven day cruise Jan 22nd and are planning to arrive two days early. Which resort is better All Star Movies or Pop Century? There are 9 in our group of which 4 are children (14,13,10,8 ). We plan to go to the Magic Kingdom one day.

Thanks,
Patti

There is not much difference except for the theme. You would know what your children may like best. I would guess POP would be more appealing to the older children.

What I really wanted to know
1. Are the buses more crowded for ASMO vs POP since they service all the All Star resorts?
2. Is there a more central convenient location at one over the other? Closer to the food court, pool & buses.
3. Is POP better because it is newer?
4. Is one more crowded than the other?

Thanks,
Patti

My comment on #1..I prefer Pop because they have ques (sp?) for the busses where ASMO does not. They isn't anything more aggravating than standing in the "line" to get on a bus when a family of 12 walks up and says they are in line cuz they were standing perpendicular to the other line. It's a mess at the AllStars. Arg!!

For your age group it might not make a difference in resort themes. My DD16 likes Pop because they have the Twister games you can play right next to the 70's building. We especially found 70's building B to be really close to the food court, kids playground, pop jets, pool and is just a short walk accross the parking lot to the bus stops.

My vote is for Pop.

All-Stars now have queue lines.

What are the pop jets?

I am thinking about staying here for a few days in November because I know my 4 y/o would LOVE the huge big wheel in the 70's area. The only thing that keeps me away is the lack of a water slide - which is a huge thing for my kids. How is the pool?

The pop jets are those water fountain type water sprays that come from the ground and shoot up into the air. Kids love playing in the water and the pop jets are always fun for them. When I was at Pop in July, this was a very popular area. There's a theme with Goofy and a red car in the 70's area instead of a quiet pool. Here's a picture of it at this site:

The pools are nice, but there's no slide. My ds loves slides, but had a great time swimming in the 50's Bowling Pin Pool and the 70's Hippy Dippy Pool
