ASMo vs. Pop: Which would you choose

DH and I are taking our DS(4) for his first trip this Sept. 7-13. We have narrowed down our hotel choices to ASMo or POP. We like the theming at both, so we don't know which to pick. Thoughs/Opinions?? I know POP has a seperate bus line but not sure that would too big of a benefit since we are going when crowds should be low. What about the food at the resorts? Are they about the same? Room size? Resort size? Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

We've stayed at both and really prefer ASMo over Pop. Honestly, for us, it is more because the theming and the feeling of being emersed in Disney 24/7...Disney music, Disney decor etc. I personally also like the food court more and the fact that it is a smaller resort in general. I'm almost positive the resort rooms are the same size. ASMo also cost a tiny bit less than Pop, because of the different tax based on the resort location.

I will say the one thing that Pop has over ASMo is the bus situation. I will say when we stayed at Pop, the buses were better. I don't mind the buses at ASMo, but I do remember thinking the bus situation at Pop was better. I will say I haven't stayed at ASMo in about 5 years, so things could have changed, but we'll be heading back in Sept. as well. We'll actually be there for part of your dates I'm sure you'll have fun either way, but we prefer ASMo.

I'll let you know in about 6 weeks. We did ASMo in the Toy Story wing for our Toy Story fanatics 2 years ago and staying at PoP for 5 nights in Feb.

Personally, I'd choose ASMo over Pop. Pop is much larger and so there is more walking involved unless you pay for a preferred room. Because of the number of rooms there the food court gets VERY busy. I prefer the AS food court. I thought the bus service from both was about the same. I also think the theming at Movies has more of a Disney feel to it. You will enjoy whichever you choose.

See and I disagree because when crowds are low you are MUCH MORE likely to share buses with the other All Stars. So I would consider that an Important factor 'for me'.
I think as far as 'busyness and noise', you are going to encounter that at all of the food courts during peak dining hours.
And POP is more expensive because it is more popular. Actually, the AllStars are located in the county with the higher hotel tax rate so the poster who commented about the rates being cheaper at AllStars because POP's tax rate is higher is mistaken. It's actually the reverse. The base rates for the rooms are higher at POP because they command more demand. Just like right now they don't have to offer any discounts to fill the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA and they are really no better than any othe value room other than being new and they are in a sucky location within the resort IMO!! But hey people are paying the price to stay in them!
