Greetings,

We're going to be at ASMo from 05-JUN through 11-JUN 2005. There will be 5 in our party: myself, my wife, a 20-month old toddler boy, a newly 4YO girl, and a 5.5YO boy. We are flying on SWA RR tickets.

Can you answer a few questions about ASMo?

1> I've purchased one of the WDT Magic Your Way packages. Would I do substantially better on the room price (or the park tickets) if I bought "separates?" FYI, I am an AAA member. What else will be affected if we buy "separates?" As an example, will we still qualify for the airport-to-resort baggage delivery?

2> Does the $80 upcharge for a preferred room location really garner any additional benefit?

3> Please comment on these room location musings. We would like to be close to the Fantasia pool (because of the kiddie pool), but not poolside because we are worried that the noise from the pool will interrupt afternoon naptime. We would like to be on the ground floor; upper floor only if we are within a couple of dozen steps of a staircase or an elevator. We would like to be in the vicinity of the theme park bus stop. We wouldn't mind some foot traffic by our room in the mornings and evening, as long as the afternoon was reasonably quiet. Too much to ask for? If not, how should I state my request, when I call in 4 days before our arrival?

4> I requested a crib for the toddler boy. Am I guaranteed to get one? Will there be a charge?

5> How do I go about requesting an in-room refrigerator? If I do request one, am I guaranteed to get one? What is the cost, and size of the fridge?

Thanks a million, :disrocks:

First of all, you will LOVE ASMo!!!!! And the kids will think it's the best place ever. I've always found Disney is cheaper alacarte...as they usually throw in "extras" i'm not interested in. So I tend to buy my tickets in advance through TicketMania...or use AAA discount and buy them there. I book the room through Disney's central reservations office and use the AAA discount w/ them. I'm not a big fan of the meal plan. Especially w/ young kids, but there are others who are.

Personally i wouldn't bother w/ the $80 preferred location. We did it at ASMo one trip and our room was VERY far from the food courts and bus stop. I recommend asking for Toy Story or Dalmation bldgs. You'll be close to food court, bus stops and pools, w/out being on top of them.

We have young children and always request ground floor. Easier to get going in the morning w/ strollers.

The crib is guaranteed (it's a port a crib) and you can request a fridge, you'll be charged $10/day and yes, it will be guaranteed too.

So my recomm. when you call (or add it to your room ressie) is simply:
"we'd like to be in a quiet section of the Dalmation Bldgs, closer to the foodcourt, on the ground floor. We need a crib and a refrigerator."

I think that would do it. If you look at a map, you can decide if Dalmations works for you. We typically stay in Toy story and have enjoyed it. I no longer specify Buzz or Woody bldg just 1st floor, as we like trying out new locations (and being surprised).

PM me if you have any add'l questions.

:worship: Thanks so much for the great information. :worship:

I just stumbled onto the All Star Movies Super Duper FAQ/Answer Thread, which makes me embarrassed that I didn't post my questions there :rolleyes1

I think I'll ask for Toy Story-Woody building, looking at Buzz but away from the parking lot, and ground floor. :cloud9:

Now I just have to wait 2.5 months. :hourglass

Thanks for asing questions about ASMo. Me, DH, DS's 5 and soon to be 4 years old and 6 month old DD in April. The boys are going to love Buzz and Woody!

I requested Toy Story and non-smoking. When we got there they said nothing was available in Toy Story so I asked for Dalmations. Nothing was available in Dalmations so I asked for Mighty Ducks (even though it is a little farther out I heard it had been recently renovated). Nothing available in Mighty Ducks either! They of course had a room in Herbie section and of course it was not facing the courtyard but the parking lot. Before anyone says anything, I know requests are not guaranteed . . . but I had no idea we would get the one section we didn't really want. The CM I had a check-in said the Toy Story section was booked the next day with groups and they had paid extra for that section!? I thought Fantasia was the only section that you had to pay extra for. I have to say I was disappointed not for me but the kids. So I just wanted to warn you. This was our first stay there. I felt our room should have been cleaner too. A brownish stain on the door in bathroom and the bedspreads were very worn and looked dirty. There was also dirt in corners of the room and around bathroom door. One thing that was filthy was the cover for the ice bucket (I took it off and didn't use it but the maids just kept putting it back on the bucket when they cleaned). When we first got in the room I called the front desk to try to immediately get another room but was told there was nothing else available. I even offered to pay extra for Fantasia but all they had were smoking rooms available! Shower and toilet were clean and sheets were clean so we just pulled bedspreads down (I know I should have asked for clean bedspreads). I did take my daughter around to look at the other sections and she loved it. We stayed in CSR for 2 days after this and it was so much cleaner and nicer. The bedspreads seemed new and everything was spotless. I'm sorry to sound so negative but I'm just being honest. I would probably only stay there again if I knew all the rooms had been renovated.

We've tried twice to get into Toy Story Bldg, without success. This year we were placed in the Mighty Ducks (could also have had Love Bug).

Despite our disappointment in not getting to wake up to Woody & Buzz, the Duck building worked out great for us. Even though we were there during the Cheerleader/President's Day rush, the area seemed quieter than the main pool. Secondly, we were very close to the Music's bus stops & food court (much closer that the Movies).

Have a good trip
