Asking for the vote

I think its ok as long as you don't force them or anything..you could suggest it in a way if somebody liked your quest/game/room then they could nominate it. I've never asked anyone to do that because I think if someone was interested they would vote for it without me or someone else making them..however, 80 percent of the time I walk in a room with a great quest or game and I forget to vote for them so in a way its good to have someone remind you :0)

Having said that, it only takes one person voting for your room to win. In the end the amount of votes cast for your room are not the determining factor. The votes only get attention to your room. VMK decides the best guestroom winners. Dont think you cant win with 1 vote

Out of all of the responses, this is the one I am most inclined to go with. You should do what you what to and just know that everybody views things differently.

Can you win with only 1 vote?? This is a quote from the vmk homepage at the bottom of the Awards & Top Players Page.

"New players are selected weekly in each category depending on number of nominations/submissions.

Players who have previously won as a Top Player do not receive the Room Award Pin twice, instead, they receive a VIP Award Pin.

Room awards offered may change without notice. VMK reserves the right to subtitute or change awards at any time."

The way it looks to me is it goes by number of nominations your room gets, but this is VMK, so who really knows what the answer is

Actually, this is how it works lets say I had a really good guest room filled with 15 people in it, HOST_Lily came in (or if pink prefers HOST_Hurrican lets go with that) and he/she took a picture of the room, some other staff need to go to other rooms to take pictures. They vote on it. and then they decide I wasn't sure about the nomination. I think they look at how many people voted for each room then they see if the rooms they saw are in the list and see how many votes, so this is what I think if I had 98 votes, and lets say 3/4 staff like my room, then I would in BGR, and get a party a Club 33

Enquiring minds still want to know how to get red ears to a room.

Last night Pink even went AFK in my honor. Since staff seems to show up when she is.

To no avail. And as I said most of the the people who ride my rides over and over again are new players who have no clue how to vote best guest room.

I figure you are darned if you do and darned if you don't. I figured I made some hosts mad somewhere in my past lives and have been black listed forever.

I wouldn't want to vote for a room if the owner even mentions the nomination form..

So how do you feel about the people asking you to vote for them for president of the USA?

I don't mind someone making a general announcement thread once here; or on VMK; that they have a room that would like people to look at in hopes of votes for best room, but don't corner people and ask them over and over.

Heck come over my any of my rooms and look at them, I put a heck of lot of time and money into them.

yes trust me, I have yet to see a baby/day care win LOL they get the most votes.


You really dont have to ask for votes because lets face it , everyone would want their room to be nominated and everyone knows it.

It's really up to the person.

However, and though I did not feel the same way in the past, I feel that it is shameless to ask others to vote for your room (or, to a higher degree, asking others to leave the guest room they are in and "come to my room and vote pls").

Although I feel this way about personal rooms, I feel that it's perfectly OK to ask others to vote for the room you are in if it is your friends guest room, just not so much that it gets annoying.
