Asking For The Front

We ALWAYS ask to sit at the front of: Expedition Everest, Soarin, Space Mountain, and Dinosaur....... and at the very back of Rock N Roller Coaster and Big Thunder Mountain!! :cloud9:

It's never been a problem, ever! Sometimes we just have to wait a little longer, that's all :yay:

My tag indicates my agreement with some of these (as well as ToT). :thumbsup2

...I asked for Soarin' on our trip last week to sit middle, front row. It wasn't busy, we pretty much walked right on (it was 9.40am) and the CM said yes of course...

I'm intrigued by this. I know Mike Scopa of All Ears and WDW Today likes the middle top, but I've never been brave enough to ask for something so specific (but would love to). I don't mind asking for front. I always say please, thank you, and phrase it as a question, as in "Can we please sit in the front row?" (Sidenote: my sister was once scolded by a ToT CM who scolded her - in character - for not saying "May we...". :scared: ). I ask and often they are fine with it, although they often tell me I have to wait. Only rarely do they act put out by it, but I try to just say in a upbeat voice, "No problem. Thanks for letting us wait." That usually defuses their irritation, if they expressed any. I say ask away! :woohoo: :cool1:

The front car on Expedition Everest is SO worth any wait you might have to endure, and the CMs are totally accomodating to any requests. When I was there last January, they had a little area set aside for everyone who'd asked for the front and were very efficient getting all of us on in a timely manner.

We (well I, Mum is scared of Soarin' - I KNOW mad woman!!! - so she did what I told her!!! :rotfl: ) asked very politely. I think I wouldn't have been so brave if it was busier - the CM was taking her time loading everyone into position and we were early on in the 'filling up' process and they hadn't started filling the middle section yet - so I just said "would it be possible to sit on the front of the middle section please?" she said of course, go ahead and pointed us to where we should go.

I had wanted to ride it there as I'd read so many times on here that it was the best position - you don't see any feet above you! However, we were on the end of the row and the person on the end of the top row on the left was REALLY close to me - so it wasn't that much different from seeing feet, I just saw man!!! :rotfl: I love the ride though so didn't care one bit!!!

Front row of Soarin is the best!
Also be aware that if you want the front car of the monarail it only seats 4!!!!! We were a party of 9 and the CM was very nice and said she you could wait when one is available. We all thought no problem. Well after waiting a half hour and one opens the CM then informs us only 4 can ride upfront. Problem is there were 5 kids so how could you tell one kid they couldn't do it!!!!! Now if he would have told us that in the beginning we wouldn't have waited!!!!!

For the Monorail, it's always best to ask the first CM you see as soon as you get there. Don't delay. Once, we asked and were told that we were the first to ask, so yes, we could ride up front. We were then escorted past a family that had waited patiently near the front, but didn't ask until the Monorail arrived. I almost felt bad as if we were getting special treatment. But we simply asked first.

That has happened to us. We asked the first CM we saw, he let us to the 'nose holding pen' and the other family glared at us. They never asked about riding in the front but as soon as the monorail arrived they started to get in the nose and the CM told them poilitely that we had asked first so it was our honor. :)

I've asked a few times on certain rides, if it wasn't super busy, and have never been told no. I've been told that it might be a bit of a wait (there was a line of people waiting for the front of EE) but have never been told no.

We've asked for the front on every monorail we've ever been on. Been granted every single time. Sometimes the kids get little engineer cards from the driver also. Pretty cool.

We were lucky enough to ride in the front of the monorail our last trip. We had reservations early at MK & were one of the 1st to ride the monorail that day-only problem is they only allow 4 people per ride. Yes, we all got our cards for riding up front! I think the only time they would say no is if it is already a family up there.

I forgot about the front seats of ToT. Heehehe, when we first entered the car (or elevator or whatever) we forgot to ask for the front row and we were put into the second row, right. My wife had the seat closest to the wall and noticed a huge X on the seat. As others were fastening their seat belts, she noticed her seat didn't have ANY!

Naturally, the CM would have eventually caught this in their belt-checking routine but he forgot about the inoperable seat in the first place. After exiting that car (quickly) we politely asked for the front row. Definitely worth the short wait and definitely worth having a seat belt. :worship:

Has anyone used the quicker single rider line, and then told the CM, that they were willing to wait for a front seat?

Anyone in the single rider line does not have a choice where they will end up. You must go where you are directed. The next open spot is you. You may not go into the front row line.

A single rider in the regular line or FastPass line may go into the front row line.

The only ride I ask for the front is at Soarin...I always ask for a front row center and have never been turned down yet

Normally CMs are great at accommodating guests. I did encouter one rude CM at EE who told me and my mom we couldn't ride up front; but I explained another CM said we could. The rude CM rolled his eyes, and we went ahead and got in the front anyway :rolleyes1

We did ask to ride in the front on Soarin after having ridden it several times near the back. The CMs were wonderful and asked us to just wait for the next ride.
