I always feel a bit cheeky when I call or email my special requests I never ask for pixie dust. If you do, what do you say??

I just asked DH if he asked for anything. He said no; just that he had made his request and mentioned why we needed a room near reception and that the trip had been booked to give her something to look forward to throughout hospital visits etc. Not sure he would even think to ask for "pixie dust" iykwim?

I don't ask for anything either, but i always email guest services with a room request (I like ground floor and quiet) and in that email i always say if we're at DLP celebrating a special occasion, and I also state that we're very happy to be back staying at the hotel. Doesn't hurt to mention if you're a shareholder too :).

Sometimes it doesn't get me any pixie dust - but sometimes it does - and at least I always get my room request honoured.

I'm requesting bunk beds this year, we had them last trip - just wish I could remember the room number as it was the best room we've had!

We had a stitch soft toy, chocolate coins and water in 2011 without asking!

In which hotel? (The bunk beds! :) )

No I can't remember :( it was near the Rio Grande though!

if you manage to get one this year, would you mind letting me know the room and block numbers? I think I go a couple of weeks after you, and a bunk-bed and double bed in the room would be excellent for our party :).

Of course I will. Bunks suit as better too - it means I can put dd (2) besides the ladder and the ladder can act as a bed guard! Last year we drove and took the travel cot, ds changed bunks every night - just to try them out of course!

On special occasions we have emailed guest relations just to say that we are celebrating the occasion in Disneyland Paris......so far we have had pixie dust.....I only email for very special events eg dd 18th my big birthday. We once got an upgrade to admirals floor without any email or reason ;-)

I'd love to know too, thank you! Bunk beds would suit us better in October, but we'd also like to be at the end of the hotel closest to the parks so it's a slightly easier walk (we lucked out with the Cheyenne at Christmas and we were THE closest block to the park - made the walk much more bearable!).

My mum sent an email for my sister, friend and I before we went in celebration of her 18th birthday. I think she just mentioned how much we were looking forward to the trip, that it was our first time going abroad without an 'adult', etc, and we were lucky enough to receive a note from the manager, along with some chocolate coins, water, and a rose in our room. We also received the most amazing view!

It does feel cheeky, but at the end of the day you've got nothing to lose - that's what I always think!

I got Pixie Dust this trip. We had a bad booking with an absolutely diabolical travel agent, and was dreading where we were going to end up. I mentioned on check in I had upgraded from the Cheyenne as a surprise (we stayed one night there via ebookers and the Sequoia as a surprise for everyone via a TA) and the kids love the hotel and I couldn't wait to see their faces. I was given an easy breakfast sticker on our easy passes, and told to come back later for my room.
Turns put we'd gone from a standard lodge to a Montana room right by the shop, character meets and bar. It meant we just walked through the main doors by the restaurant, up the stairs and turned into our room! It was a fantastic 7 nights there and I cried when we left. I didn't need water, chocolates, plushies etc, that room meant the world!

Yes, that's how we felt with our room. There could have been a case of champagne waiting for us but the room and view was just amazing. It was perfect in every way and felt like they had really done their best to give us the perfect room!
