Asking for food made more plain?

How accommodating and effective is asking for changes in foods at quick service mostly, but also table service?
Can we order a Ronto Wrap without the sauce and slaw? Can we get them on the side so someone less picky can eat the extras? Also at Situlli's Canteen for the bowls?
And I assume table service is pretty helpful? Can we ask for the sauce on the side on the filet mignon at Be Our Guest?
Hoping to accommodate everyone in my group!

Table service restaurants that shouldn't be a problem.

If ordering mobile its easy to select options and remove toppings, if you still want to receive them, but have them not placed on the wrap/meal you would likely need to order in person.

At Satul’i canteen, you build your own bowl, so just choose things you like and you’ll be good to go!

could be harder at Counter Service as some things are premade. it will depend on how much is premade.

Sorry no tips but just a warning that I’ve had trouble with similar requests at quick service previously. A lot is pre-made, sometimes not in that location, so there’s limits to what they can leave off. However, some of the allergy options are assembled on site so if you don’t mind options like the gluten and dairy free options then they might be able to make one of those more to order.

In mobile older it'll either allow to pick toppings or make plain if it can be done. If asking for plain they should have sides of the toppings you can ask for when you pick up your food.

We found all that out after waiting in line because we thought if we mobile ordered plain we wouldn't be able to get the toppings. We were sharing and didn't want the same stuff. Wasted 20 min standing in line to do it, so I would check the app for options. I'd also guess if the app doesn't at least offer plain as an option that standing in line may not get you anywhere with it

The tip to look at what is customizable in the online ordering has been wonderful!! Thanks so much.

FYI, the Ronto Wrap can be customized to either include or exclude the peppercorn sauce and the slaw, each individually. (No option for getting the items on the side though). Great news for us - now I know I can eat there with my picky kid!

At Satu'li Canteen the bowls are very easy to customize on the app. Of course you can choose which base and which sauce you want (which includes an option for "no base" and "no sauce") You can choose "include" or "no, thanks" or "on the side" for the boba balls, the vegetable slaw and the sauce. On the beef bowl you can even change the meat cooked temp from the standard medium to well if you like it that way better! Even with the cheeseburger pods, you can ask for the boba balls that seem to be on the side slaw to be "included" or "no, thanks" or "on the side".

Some items have more or less customization, for sure! And some restaurants have more or less customization.

Some I would have expected don't seem possible - like at Woody's Lunchbox it doesn't seem possible to make a vegetarian, but not vegan "totchos"! (By adding the vegetarian chili on the tots but using milk based cheese and sour cream!) Other things are a little unclear (Like is the sour cream on the plant based Veggie Rice Bowl at Pecos Bill made with dairy? I assume not - but although you can choose to leave it off or have extra added, there is no option to change it to "normal" sour cream.

I would agree that is shouldn't be problem at TS. QS will be a crap shoot.
Satu'Li, you order it how you want it, so should not be a problem. Most others, if mobile order, its difficult to do custom orders, so probably would need to do in person. And may need to wait much longer for a special order.

If you opt to keep things off at counter service places, you usually won't be able to get the items on the side, simply because most places don't have appropriate containers to put the stuff in. Ronto Roasters, for example, is VERY bare bones. They don't even have utensils there.

Similar question: what about at festival booths?
Just simple requests like, leaving the sauce off an item.

They absolutely will not modify those items, at least at Disneyland. They are super inflexible about that, as they are required to plate it "as directed by the chefs."
