Hi Everyone,
I am trying to plan a trip to to stay at the Beach Club in Dec 6-13 for a family of 5 and my Mom. My son has cerebral palsy which shows up as significant developmental delays. I have asked for connecting rooms at the Beach Club so Mom can help us with him and we can spread out a little. Disney says they won't guarantee the connecting rooms since we would have 3 adults. Does anyone have experience with trying to get connecting rooms? I'd hate to show up to find that our rooms are split up. Thanks in advance!

I told them when we booked our room that we needed connecting rooms not adjoining rooms for medical reasons and they so far have seemed to understand. We are going in a week so we will see.

lmb80129, one way around this is to get a 2 bedroom villa at Beach Club Villas (rather than the Beach Club proper), if available, but this is pricy at rack rate. Our DS also has a CP diagnosis, which manifests itself differently; it is for him that we bought our DVC membership and keep heading back to WDW each yr. When we go with Grandma, we get the 2BR unit as these work really well for us, especially with the full kitchen and laundry in the room. Early December is a popular time for DVC members (the villas are a DVC property) so the 2BRs may be all rented up already, but you can check.

If you have special medical needs that must be addressed, it is best to go directly through the WDW Special Reservations line, as they can block out rooms to meet your special medical needs. mom2zandjsquared, I will PM you the number.

Good luck to both of you

I checked the BC villas and there are none available. Pumpkinboy, would you please pm the number to me as well? Thanks!

The phone number is listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, in post # 7 of that thread. The disABILITIES FAQs thread is near the top of this board, or you can use the link in my signature to get there.

Our beloved Minnesotan Administratrix has sent you to the right spot for the number, so you should be all set on that count.

As for Villa lodging, yeah, I checked availability too and came up with no 2BRs in the smaller DVC venues. There were 2BRs available at both Disney's Old Key West resort (Huuuuuuuge rooms!) and at Disney's Saratoga Springs resort & spa (over by downtown Disney) and it seemed at very reasonable prices compared to 2 rooms at BC. If you have your heart set on Beach Club, then it would seem that sticking with the original plan might make sense. But if you have some flexibility on this point, you may want to look into a 2BR villa st OKW or SSR, since it will fit your whole party; plus both are gorgeous resorts!

Good luck!
