Asking for cards/postcards...

Hello. I'm not sure this is appropriate, but I will give it a try. There is a 7 year old girl at Riley Hospital in Indianapolis who was severely burned in an accident. The short of it is that she stood too close to the fireplace and it caught her leggings and skirt on fire. In the beginning she was on a breathing tube, but it has since been removed. She had her first of many surgeries today, and is expected to be there at least 4-6 weeks.

If you could be so kind to send her a card or postcard... with get well wishes, it would be so kind. He mother is someone I've associated with, but don't know too well. However, I cannot imagine being in this families shoes right now, and am passing the word hoping any bit of encouragement will help this little girl.

*bump* as I received a question from another member...

her parents are aware I posted her address on a "Disney friendly" website and are completely in favor of it. As she regains strength the confines of her room- I'm sure- will be difficult and cards/postcards would be a welcome distraction.

So, they may not be aware of the website name, but if you say you found the address from a Disney forum, they will know and have given permission.

I also posted in the fairy godmother section as I thought some "Get well" wishes from some characters would be awesome. So, if you have a recent trip planned... maybe you would consider an extra autograph for Carmen. Thanks.

Cody Bear has sent her a get well card from Germany. He has the ability to make everything better kinda like ice cream. I sincerely, hope this little girl gets better and that she goes on to live a long and happy life!

Do you know how long she is slated to be in the unit? I have a trip coming up the end of the month and would be happy to get some autographs for her if she is going to be there for at least a month.

Thank you. This occurred Monday. It is estimated she will be there 1.3 days for each percentage burned, which would be 72 days. It's too early to say exactly how long she will be there, but it's fair to assume she will be there at least a month.

Thank you to the few that have responded to the thread. I am doing a shameless bump, as she just underwent her second surgery and it didn't take as well as they had hoped. It is estimated she will have about 10 more surgeries.
