as everyone knows, i'm trying to find a way for DH, DD and her husband and DS and his wife to have a big family trip to WDW this summer, but the onsite rates are just too stratospheric for us..
(this would be the first time DDIL and DSIL are at WDW)...

i continue to work the numbers and thought that perhaps a villa might be the way to go....
but what villa?

we've only stayed in hotels (and in the last 10 years, only onsite)..

it would have to be at least 3 Bedrooms and 3 bathrooms....
private pool would also be nice, but i don't think it's a requirement...
also, it should be close to WDW.....

has anyone stayed anywhere like that?
a place they can wholeheartedly recommend?

Hi Beth,

Sounds like a town house might be your best bet? We are currently staying at Windsor Hills and although we are in a villa, we have driven past the town houses and they seem to have a small plunge pool and then also the use of the main pool at the clubhouse.

Our last stay was at emerald island and there were also town houses there. We love his whole area as literally a five minute drive to wdw. Lots of restaurants on the 192 and lots of new ones opening too.

Hope you get something sorted soon :goodvibes

Good luck.

Ali :goodvibes

we have stayed in various villas off the 192 for the past 14 yrs, upcoming trip is a villa in cumbrian lakes. you can get good deals on villas, but you need a budget to in mind and an area that you would like to stay, our villa(5 bed ) is costing us £1575 for 23nights, but that is split into half as dd and family are going halves on it.
villas of somerset nr old town are condos, very spacious inside and although older are very very nice!

the one thing i'm worried about with the villas - since as i understand it, you rent directly from private individuals, unless you get a specific recommendation, you have no idea in advance if the villa will be in good shape or not, and whether the owner provides good service or not..

that's what's really worrying me...

i'd hate to spend all that money to get to orlando and rent the villa for 2 weeks and then find out that it's a hell hole...

We haved always stayed in a villa as afamily of 6 hotels are just not my thing at all.
If you are after a reccomendation for a villa and owner I can whole heartedly reccomend the villa we used last year and are returning to this year.

The only thing I wish it had was a hot tub but everything else wowed us and the owners are amazing and a pleasure to deal with.

We have also stayed at others but this is by far our favourite. It was genuinly 10 - 15 minutes from villa to parking :thumbsup2

I personally source all our villa rentals through the www.thedibb.co.uk website and the villa location map on the same website is very helpful when working out location of villas.

thanks for the referal - i'm going to check it out now.. :)

Hi Beth - the villa recommended looks lovely and the prices are good. We have stayed at a TH at Windsor Hills but the price starts around $135 per night - so the villa looks better value. I can let you have the details - but the 3rd bedroom is geared up for kids and not as good for all adults.

Hi there,

My best friend owns a villa at Manors North, we've stayed there 3 times and it's superb.

Would have booked it for this August but she's been holding the weeks back as wasnt sure when she needed it, however, its now free from the 24th July but we've already booked. Promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Ill PM you the link.

Sharon
