Ask Me Anything

yes, we have, my eldest did not want to get off in alcapulco at all. turns out there was just her and 2 other kids in there all day. she won multiple items like hats, etc and had a blast, but continues to ask why she isn't in any pictures!!
Really? I assumed we couldn't. Good to know. Though I want them to come explore Norway with us, they may want to take a day off from Port excursion. How does that work if thy need to contact parent? Don't think they would have any issues but it will be my DW first question :)

We left our 2kids snoozing in bed day 2 in Iceland. Tired kids are no fun to be with and Day 1was a long excursion getting us back after midnight. We purposely did not book them on Day 2excursion. They were 8 and 16. As they tell the story: they slept until an undisclosed time, they went to Cabanas for food, oldest dropped youngest at kids club. Oldest relished her complete parent-free, sibling-free time for which we never really got a detailed account. Go figure.

That is awesome LOL
Mine are 8 and 5 so won't relying on my 8y/o (though he'd probably want to) to bring his sister down to club when they finished breakfast. Agree though that grumpy kids are no fun, particularly on excursions with lots of "scenery" and not a lot of active fun.

Hi! If you leave your kids with us while you go into port, we cannot contact you. We do not have the ability to call mobile phones. So if you want to leave your kids that's fine! Just be aware that we can't contct you.

So, out of curiosity, what happens if a kid is left on the boat in the kids club, but parents get delayed-lets say a non-Disney excursion does not get back in time. What happens??
In our situation, we were not concerned Bc teen had phone, we had phones and she had further contact info for the excursion company available if needed. Also excursion times were not cutting it close at all. I ask Bc a group of us were wondering this exact thing while in the cruise planning stages. Thx!

What is friendship rocks? We are sailing on the Fantasy on 4/23/16- our first cruise. Our daughters are 6 and 8. Are there any specific kids club activities that you would recommend for them?

Friendship Rocks is where the kids in the Oceaneers Lab and Club get dressed in matching T-shirts and perform a little song/dance on stage in the Walt Disney Theatre. It's pretty awesome - the kids seem to love it. How ever I'm pretty sure they only do it on the Magic and Wonder, not on the two newer ships.

How do the kids get to do this. We'll be on the wonder and my daughter would love this. Also, this is our second cruise and I remember getting tickets to the princess gathering at guest service desk not port excursions...have things changed and you can only get them from port excursions?

It varies from ship to ship, cruise to cruise. It just depends on how a specific cruise needs to set things up.

Friendship Rocks is usually in the Navigator. And you need to be in the club in advance. You can just ask the counsellors too, they'll know the details as well. It's so much fun for the kids.

The princess gathering ticket place is in the Navigator you get on arrival. I've been to one of the bars before tot them, as well as the Port Adventures desk. Just check the Navigator and you'll be fine :)

Michelle is correct. I loved doing this (back when it was D-SEA-U) at age 11.

KT, when I did the Panama Canal cruise last May, they had adults only time in the clubs. If they've done it on your ship, what's it like having the adults have fun with the kids?

13 year old did not like the Edge on the Fantasy at all in December. So bummed as she loved the Oceaneers. I think she likes interacting with the counselors more, plus I think they let alot of 10 year old into the Edge for that cruise. We are sailing on the Magic in a couple weeks. She is 2 weeks shy of being 14 and the Vibe. How do I go about getting her into both of them?

Hi everyone! How are we all?? I am back again for a little while so please let me know if you have any questions!! Have a magical day!!

Thanks for coming back! I asked up thread, but I think it got lost. What is the Choose Your Cruise activity? Thanks in advance for your time.

My kids love pin trading at the parks. Are there many pin trading opportunities on the Fantasy? We will be sailing next Saturday. Thanks in advance!

My niece has a nut allergy....when they do the cooking classes do they have a list of the ingredients for parents to read to make sure it's ok if their child to participate? Thanks!

We just love knowing that you and your children have had a magical cruise! In way of gifts, candy is always very much appreciated but by no means is it expected.
Is there a preferred type of candy?

I recommend you have your niece's allergy noted on the reservation. While I don't believe they serve or cook any peanut products in the Club/Lab, her parents will also want to discuss the allergy with a Club CM at open house the first afternoon. DCL tends to err on the side of caution where allergies are involved. And I'm not sure the cookies the kids receive to eat after "baking" them are actually the same they sent to the oven.

Enjoy your cruise!

Hi, my daughter is 13 and shy around people she doesn't know. She is adamant that she's not going to any clubs onboard and I don't want to force her, but I also know that she would love it if she got over her initial shyness and gave it a go!
What activities would be suitable for her? She loves dance, art, make up/nails, cooking etc, would the club for her age have any of these activities to tempt her?
