Ask Me Anything: Ask CustardTart Anything

Hi Karen

What is your current favourite song?

What is your all time favourite song?

What song describes you?

What is the best gig you have ever been to?

What is your favourite musical?

Laur's princess:

My current fave is "I Can't Stop This Feeling I've Got" by Razorlight.

My all-time fave is Float On by Modest Mouse - it is today, anyway!

Mmm, that's tough! Probably half "All You Need Is..." by Roy Harper and half "Mr. Jones" by Counting Crows...

Best gig is probably the most recent one, Keane at Wembley! My DS took me so that was special in itself, we had great seats, they sounded fantastic and I love both their albums! All in all a very special night! :thumbsup2

Favourite musical is Les Miserables. DD and I l-o-v-e it. We've only seen it twice but we'll definitely being going again soon. Evita's a close second tho'..

Hello Karen,

when was the last time you were drunk?
what's the worst thing you've done whilst under the influence?
have you ever been so drunk you can't remember how you got home?
have any of your children been seriously drunk?

It's been a while since I was 'off my face' drunk. Got a little tipsy at the weekend and I'm expecting tonight to be a good night... ;)

Worst thing? OMG there are so many! Downing glasses of red wine in one in the company of my DD's friends at her 18th birthday party... Lying on Wandsworth Common with a friend and refusing to go home so she had to and get DH... Playing a kazoo during a performance of a play at the Greenwich Theatre... Having my nose pierced in Brighton... I'm going to stop there! :sad2:

No and I've been very drunk on occasion. It's my misfortune to be able to remember every crass, bad and embarrassing thing I've done/said while under the influence...

The big two have done. Samuel's almost 14 and has a £100 bet with his elder brother that he won't get sick on alcohol before he's 18 - he's very focused on the cash so we'll have to see... :rotfl:

Me again, it's my lunch break so I'm getting them all in whilst I can:

Can you roll your tongue
Wink with both eyes or just one - if just one which one
are you left or right handed
do you have one foot bigger than the other
which side of the bed do you sleep on
what is your favourite sandwich filling
do you and your DH have pet names for each other
Have you ever 'let off' and not let on?
have you ever 'let off' and blamed someone else?
and finally, have you ever laughed so hard you leaked?

OMG Annemarie! You're a harsh taskmaster!

Yes.
Both.
Right-handed.
Right foot is slightly bigger.
Left side.
Bacon, egg and tomato on toasted bread...
I call him Mr. Dick and he calls me Loml (stands for love of my life)... :flower3:
Of course. Who doesn't? :confused3
Definitely - dogs have their uses... ;)
Many times! I'm a legitimate laughing leaker! I can't just blame childbirth either - I remember laughing so hard at school I fell over and p'd myself a little bit... :lmao:

okay last one (for the moment  )

What has been your greatest achievement to date
What is the most difficult situation you have had to face and how did you tackle it
What is your greatest weakness?
Do you believe in God?
If you could ask God one question what would it be? and what would you like the answer to be?

Greatest achievement is the fabulous relationship I enjoy with my DH and my beautiful children. What we have is very special and I'm proud to be in the driving seat. :cloud9:

Ah, that would be my Mum's death back in 1993. I was 7 months pregnant with my 3rd child and had no idea my Mum was even ill let alone dying of cancer as she and my father had kept it all a secret for years. :confused3 Bizarre or what? So the first thing I knew was when my father rang up and said I had to come quickly as Mum was in a coma. Sadly she died before I arrived. I definitely couldn't have coped without Richard - he was an absolute star. I also decide not to deal with it until after my DS was born. It took me ages to come to terms with what had happened but at least I learned how NOT to tell members of your family that you're seriously ill...

My greatness weakness is not believing in myself. I tend to assume I can't do stuff as I'm scared of failing. It's v annoying as I never used to be like this... :sad2:

I believe in something - not sure if it's God.

I'd ask what's the point of wasps? I'd like the answer to be "oops I made a mistake, they shouldn't exist!" and He'd wipe 'em out once and for all... :thumbsup2

I'm also looking forward to watching you have your surfing lesson in TyphLag! :lmao: Should be a hoot!
Gee thanks Mum. :sad2:

Who's your favorite: me, Matty or Samuel? (That's a trick question by the way!)

Did you ever bunk off school?

If so did you get caught?

What's your best WDW memory?

What's your current top TV show?

Byeee! Mwah, mwah!

Downing glasses of red wine in one in the company of my DD's friends at her 18th birthday party...

It's true and I still bear the emotional scars. :lmao:

Awww.

Are you superstitious?

How many iPods do you have?

Have you been shopping today?

Filofax or PDA?

Mac or PC?

Daddy or Chips? ;) Couldn't resist sorry!

Hi me again. Sorry for persecuting you but I'm addicted to asking these questions!

If you could do any job, what would you do?

Would you prefer a house by the sea or a house in the country?

What's your favorite smilie?

What are you reading at the moment?

What are you listening to at the moment?

What's your favorite flower?

What's the most expensive item in your wardrobe?

I promise I'll go home now and leave you alone.

It's time we used the :rolleyes1 guy for the purpose he was intended to. To be used as a singer!

Think of 5 songs in your head, and now sing them to us if you please!

Speaking of Songs, time for the fabled question. You have to sing a duet with a DISer, who do you choose and why?

Another Fabled Question: I am a genie (Surpise!) and I give you three wishes, what are they?

And the other Fabled Question: If you could be a Pokemon what would be?

And the same for your Partner in Crime! :teeth:

OMG are you stalking me, you crazy kid!
You are, of course, my favourite - and if one of your brothers had asked that question , they'd be the fave rave of the moment. Us mother's are very fickle... ;)

You know I bunked off school - plenty!

And you know I got caught! And you know I pretended to be my Mum and rang the Headmistress to promise I'd never do it again!

The day we decided to do 4 parks in 1 day! Pure genius... :thumbsup2

Currently loving Heroes on the Sci-Fi channel with Criminal Minds a close 2nd...

Yes, I'm superstitious! Especially where magpies, ladders and black cats are concerned!

I have 4 iPods. An old pink mini for general use; black mercedes nano in the car; white nano for back up general use and a lime green shuffle for running... :rolleyes1

Sure have! Bought your big bro a new bed... :)

Filofax tho I'd lurve a PDA - hint, hint! ;)

Mac everytime. :surfweb:

Chips - they have a scarcity value at the mo... popcorn::

Can you please get a life???? ;)

I would like to study Criminology and teach the subject at Uni...

By the sea, please!

:rolleyes1

Dust to Dust by Tami Hoag.

Razorlight by er Razorlight...

White tulips.

Cheeky! Not sure but probably a Balenciaga handbag I had last Xmas off my DH...

The 5 songs I am singing are:

"Girls Just Want to Have Fun" Cyndi Lauper.

"Independent Woman" Destiny's Child.

"Dreams" Fleetwood Mac.

"Move On Now" Hard-Fi.

"When Doves Cry" Prince...

I'd choose Saratoga Girl - I reckon she's a Diva in the making!

I wish champagne came out of one of the taps in my kitchen instead of water.

I wish dogs would age at the same rate as humans.

I wish an alternative fuel was readily available.

Pokemon-wise, I'd be Jiggly Puff - a minx who can disarm you thro' song! Very cool! And for my P-I-C I choose Butterfree - always one of my faves... :thumbsup2

Hi Karen,

I see you're off on 2 Disney trips tell us about them!

Did you ever win anything at school? Sporting or otherwise?

Were you a prefect? If not did you want to be?

Did you like school? When you weren't bunking off :rotfl2:

Hi Karen,

I see you're off on 2 Disney trips tell us about them!

Hi Jo!

It's our 25th Wedding Anniversary on September 23rd, so we're going on a DCL Western Caribbean Cruise to celebrate. party:

We're sailing from Port Canaveral on September 22nd (flying into MCO the day before) and, on September 27th, we're renewing our vows aboard the Magic! :bride: It's really very exciting, as our original wedding was such a low-key affair! What's also great is that for the last few months I've been chatting with a bunch of really fab people on the Cruise Meet thread so it feels like we're travelling with friends! A few of us have even linked ressies so we won't be dining with strangers - I really think we're going to have a wonderful time... :cloud9:

Then, about a week after returning from the cruise, DD24 and I fly out to WDW for 10 nights of Food & Wine fun. :woohoo: We're staying at the Yacht Club and it's one of our regular Girls Only trips - tho' only our 2nd WDW stay. "Why don't you just stay out there after the cruise and wait for Sophie?" I hear you cry! Basically, the October trip was booked ages ago, well before DH and I thought about cruising and we got a good deal (10 nights for the price of 7) with VH. The cost to cancel and rebook everything (plus the extra week's accomodation for me) works out more expensive, so we decided to leave things as they are... :thumbsup2

Did you ever win anything at school? Sporting or otherwise?

Were you a prefect? If not did you want to be?

Did you like school? When you weren't bunking off :rotfl2:

Yes, I won a few prizes for essays and creative writing. I won a cup at my primary school for most improved pupil! I played rounders and hockey for the school and we were runners-up one year in U14's rounders when I was captain...

I was a prefect at my junior school - they didn't have 'em at my uber-strict senior school, bizarrely enough! :confused3

After loving junior school, I found senior school horrible. It seemed to me it was an institution that just cared about staying top of the results tables and not the individual pupils. As far as I was concerned, I didn't fit in and I didn't want to! Upon reflection, I made my life sooo much more difficult than it needed to be but I remember feeling it was important at the time. I got enough O and A levels to get into Uni and I met my DH at the neighbouring Boys School so I guess I didn't do too badly. And I elevated bunking off to an art form... ;)

Ok, just popping over to say hi :wave2:

A couple of questions....

If you could only buy your clothes from one shop in the future, where would you choose?

Are you superstitious? If you are, what superstition has the biggest influence on your daily life?

What is your number one tip for being able to switch off the worries in your mind?

Thank you!

Hi Kristie!

That's quite harsh - I'm assuming I can't just opt for John Lewis!? ;) In that case I'd probably choose Monsoon.

I always raise my hand to ward of bad luck when I see a single magpie.

I'm not much of a worrier as it's not good for my skin TBH. But if I do find I'm awake and obsessing in the middle of the night, my normal practice is simply to tell myself to stop thinking about the negative stuff and re-focus on something positive. Works every time... :thumbsup2
