Ashlee Simpson was proven to be a liar last evening with her atrocious lip syncing of her first song on SNL and then completely botching the second song, not even trying, dancing around like a maniacal puppet and then running off stage. She then tried to blame her band, who tried to rescue the set. I had little respect for her before this incident, but now I don't respect her at all.

I was so embarassed for her , the guys in the band just gave each other this knowing look, what a shame. It was really unbelievable.

I must be naive because I thought that most bands lip synched now on live tv anyway? Shows how much I know about it

LOL well that cant be good. The guys in the band looked like they wanted to crack up, you could see them trying to hold it in.
But I also thought a lot of bands lip synched too.

looks like they started the soundtrack before she was ready! LOL! I never thought she could sing and after watching her on one of the music award shows..(maybe VMA's..she performed before the actual ceremony) I knew she couldn't sing. I can't stand her sister either..not so much her voice, but watching her sing is painful!

And I also thought most bands lipsynced on SNL too..or any live show for that matter.

I turned it on last night just in time to see this fiasco. I heard 3 or 4 song words, but she wasn't singing. Then she was dancing around the stage, then she was gone and they went to commercials. At the end she was on stage with everyone and Jude Law, the host, had his arm around her. She said her band played the wrong song and she was very sorry, but sometimes stuff like this happens. Isn't that what rehearsals are for, Ashlee?

I'm just curious & seem to have missed something. Other than the SNL incident, why is she a liar?

DD is "into" Ashlee Simpson right now - mostly because we've been watching re-runs of 7th Heaven. Usually DD will stop listening to singers who have made poor choices - her idea, not mine.

I just wondered if there was something I should let her know about.

I think she is being called a liar here because she blamed the band. Her set was obviously lipsynched and the "Pieces of Me" song came on again. The band looked like they were actually trying to save the set IMO. I'm sure her "camp" will be putting some spin on this to save face. I really don't have an opinion of her. I just find it all so funny.

At the end of the show she said her band played the wrong song. . I watched it happen as well. She did some wierd dancing that reminded me of Milli Vinili then was gone. You heard her singing and she wasn't singing lol. Was lip syncing.

My opinion is her sister is VERY TALENTED and she wanted in on it much like britney spear's sister is (and doing quite well). I don't think she holds a candle to her sister.
